Damn, I remember when that CD came out and we had a friend who worked at the local MUSIC STORE (remember those?). He was able to get it the night before and we thought we were the shit. Went to Crutchfield to get a CD player installed in the good ol' Dodge Stratus just to listen in my car.

We had Hastings music store and it was awesome
|
Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
we had a few different ones in this area - Tweeter center was a big one for auto installs. But yea, i remember my father sitting me down in the living room and listening to the whole cd with me, and scolding half of it, but also remarking hmmmm... when em said " yea, dont do drugs" -- the cd was subsequently taken, but then given back eventually, though.

I worked at a Sam Goodys in Fairfax sophomore in college. Tower Records has a special place in my heart...the listening stations and the crazy selection of hard to find bands/labels and import CDs. if you sniffed around in there you could find you some nice trim too. |

It was taken out of our local mall about 5 or 6 years ago i think, maybe even longer, but i still walk by whatever bullshit clothing or sneaker store it is now and let out a very dissapointed *siigghhh* --- also right next to it used to be suncoast video -- that place was also the absolute shit! I think i may have seen one in a mall in upstate NY like 4 years ago still around but not sure if they are prominent anymore. blah. |
Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
I rememeber when I use to spend all my money on music, video games, and baseball cards.
Now its rent, insurance(s), car payments, etc. One is not like the other. |

Crutchfield still a thing. If I can't do my own installs, they are still the shit. Had them put a touch screen media player in my Honda Fit. |
Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
I also miss gum cigarettes. Lol, imagine if those were advertised now. Heads would explode all over the country.

ya dont see them hunting down those manufacturers, no, they'd rather chase a logo and name of a football team. |

They are super fast with shipping as well! I remember ordering something from them on Wednesday, and it was at my house Friday morning. |
Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
Just because Hankins is the only notable movement that might be expected before the draft. I hadn't seen this injury note, but maybe there is more to the story than him just waiting:
Hankins has not practiced all week with an ankle injury. He has landed on the injury report three out of the last four weeks with a different issue, but was able to work his way into the lineup the previous two occasions. In Week 14, he had a chest injury, and did not practice one day (but played that week). Last week, it was the same story, only for a shoulder injury. He’ll finish his season with 44 tackles (four for a loss), two sacks and five quarterback hits. Hankins has two years remaining on his contract with the Colts.
Colts News last season note: I'm not saying he would not pass a physical, just that interested teams like the Skins are likely leveraging the quality NT's in the draft and his recent injuries to lower the offer far below what he wants/expects. |
Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
It's starting to look likely Hankins will wait until after the draft

What happened to make you think that? |
Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
Seems like Hankins is overplaying his hand. I'd think the closer to the draft it gets, teams are just going to move on and draft a guy to take that position. We're example 1a, most mocks have us taking DL. He'll probably get a mediocre 1 year deal somewhere.

If we don't sign him, which could still happen before the draft, I hope it's for a smart cap related reason, and Scherff gets an extension as soon as it's allowed. |

I'm a fan not a capologist. I don't give a damn about next years cap. That's the Skins problem. Just get me a damn Nose Tackle! |

Im now really interested to see how much he signs for and how long. I don't think he will get as good of a deal as he did last year late in FA. If he has to settle for a 1 year deal, hoping he choses us. |

If he has to settle for a 1 year deal, hoping he choses us.
I am not fan of 1 year deals (unless player had bad season or coming back from injury), I think one year deals for players like Hankins isn't ideal. It puts extra pressure on FO to resign the player next off season while trying to extend contracts with our players with expired contracts or signing some FAs. But then some could point to how this strategy worked out well with Zach Brown. |

It also worked for Terrell Pryor. In both cases its a risk mitigator against scheme fit, locker room fit, or contract vs limited sample of "great play"... Plus and others have mentioned this...contracts of younger performers on the team are coming up...which is true but that leads to obvious bigger discussions with Jordon Reed and Josh Norman contracts not this year but next. Im fairly confident unless Norman has a great/probowl season(he very well could) or Jordan Reed actually stays healthy and performs as a top 6-7 Tight End (he very well could)...both could be last years with the team...which would create the space we needed. Or we could redo their deals...but if one or both don't perform they absolutely WILL NOT get their full money in 2019 from the Skins. |
Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
Hankins isn't this good to be waiting around like this lol Dude you ain't a top tier DL. I'm with Matty, f that and lets draft a DT in the early rounds.. This is a deep class of lineman

I think it's less about Hankins' ability than it is about his position, NT, having become devalued in the NFL. He's a two down player and teams aren't going to pay big money for that. Apparently, Hankins and his agent haven't accepted the reality that the big money just isn't going to be there for him. Nevertheless, he is a very good run-stopper and I'd like to have him. |
Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
Screw'em - rather draft a guy anyway IMO
