I was thinking the same thing.
Hopefully they like Flanagan and/or Holtz. Does anyone recall which one of the two Cooley raved about toward the end of last season? I remember him commenting that one of the two of them had blocked better than any TE on the team since Logan Paulsen. I agree though. Really uneasy going into the season with the current TE group.
Believe it was Flanagan...he said he was the best blocking TE on the roster. |
Re: NFL Draft Rounds 4-7
Harmon isn't fast and his combine measures call into question whether or not he can make it in the NFL.
But his film is great. Can w/ vs press. Good route runner. Good contested catch. Good hands. Bad athlete. |

Re: NFL Draft Rounds 4-7
We added some solid talent to the WR group, hopefully Cam Sims can develop too

Re: NFL Draft Rounds 4-7
From Bleacher Report, for whatever it is worth.
Bryce Love, Running Back, Stanford 112. Washington Redskins: Bryce Love, Running Back, Stanford Strengths: Patience, explosion Weaknesses: Injuries Love tore his ACL at the end of last season and had ankle injuries prior to that. His yardage total dropped from 2,118 yards (8.1 yards per carry) to 739 (4.5 ypc) as a result of the injuries, weaker blocking and a more pass-oriented Cardinal offense. The 2017 version of Love looked like LeSean McCoy at his best. Love excelled at following convoys of blockers from the I formation or on pulling-lineman plays, exploding through a crease and then stringing together moves on the second level to turn six-yard gains into 30-yarders. The Love we saw in 2018 still had a burst and long speed but was more likely to get tripped up in the open field or not quite create space for himself with a jump cut. Love would have been a top-15 pick in 2018, so this could be a steal. And he can swap injury stories with Adrian Peterson and Derrius Guice. Let’s just hope they aren’t always meeting around the MRI machine. Grade: B+. My take: A healthy OG Dru Samia was available and and taken two picks later. Samia was graded an A at that point in the draft. Instead we drafted another talented but injury prone RB that probably will not be ready to play. Not sure when our FO will stop taking injured players especially after last years body bag year. There was a ton of talent available at this point of the draft. It better fucking work out. |
Re: NFL Draft Rounds 4-7
131. Washington Redskins: Wes Martin, Guard, Indiana
Strengths: Size, reliability Weaknesses: Athleticism Martin is a sturdy, nuthin’-fancy interior lineman. Washington’s running backs will appreciate having Martin in the mix of players blocking in front of them. Once those running backs are done throwing emoji shade on the internet, anyway. Grade: C+ My take: kid looks like a good blue collar hard working guard. Could become a good starter.. My issue is we waited so late to take our biggest need Position that has been a hole for years. |

And yet, we seem to defy the laws of mathematics. I do think we are at an important time in the franchise’s history as the poor record hasn’t seemed to hurt the fan base too badly until recent years. It isn’t just attendance at FedEx - viewership is down. They need to get back on track and soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm very satisfied with this draft....the sleeper pick in my opinion was Cole Holcomb....he's a tackling machine in the mold of London Fletcher/Neal Olkawicz.....

I counter with, the last time we used first round pick on O lineman it was Brandon Scherff and Trent Williams. How did that pan out? Brandon Scherff and Trent Williams > Roullier |

Brandon Scherff and Trent Murphy > Roullier
I am assuming you ment Trent Williams : P Jeff Bostic / Joe Jacoby undrafted Mark Schlereth 10th round Andre Johnson 1st round The larger point is there are good players all over the draft, and it seems OL is a position that has more undrafted and low round over-performers as it is less predicated on athletic ability and more on brains and consistency. ** and the cap is a huge factor in having to pay for top flight talent at any position ** |
Re: NFL Draft Rounds 4-7
Later rounds are a crapshoot, roll the dice as often as possible.
Double digit draft picks is awesome, especially after trading back into the 1st. Sent from a payphone using Tapatalk |

Looks like a really solid ILB … and very fast 4.48 40 . Our 7th rd pick ( OLB ) , OK ST , could very well make the roster , very quick . FYI , do not be surprised if T. Catalina wins the LG spot , unless one of our rookies has a great camp |
