Starting to go off the deep end? It went of the tracks in October.
As much as I'd like to keep Cousins, if he expects nothing less than $26M a year and there's another team willing to pay him that, then I'd have to say bye. There's a fine line between setting your team back a year or so in order to get (hopefully) another young, talented quarterback, and then there's a setting your team back five or six years because you have a solid franchise quarterback but can't afford to finish building a solid defense or keeping the quarterback's weapons signed.

Honestly, if he winds up being too rich for the 'skins blood, I would be willing to let him walk and resign both Jackson and Garcon.
Yeah he has passion. I agree. Ton of it. He is missing ice water in his veins. He has shown flashes of it, but he still shows shakiness at times. It is obviously 100% mental with him. All the physical tools are there. He could learn how to run when he has to but we know he has a deadly accurate arm. I always feel like he still cannot get over the fact he is starting for us. Still cannot believe it. He did spend a long time wondering if that day would ever come.

Agreed. He is ELITE in middling games.

BUT he gets flustered when he gets pressure / feels the rush. One or two sacks early tends to shake his confidence and he starts throwing check-downs instead of waiting for longer plays to develop.

And he still gets flustered in the biggest of games. Sure, he can make 4th quarter comebacks, and deliver like Matty Ice in mid-season 5-7 game win streaks. BUT he has not shown that level of Brady-steel in the last game of each season.

I personally think he'll be fine. Give him another season or two. Develop a run game to help in RZ / run out clock / develop play action. Develop a defense so we don't force the game on his shoulders. I think we'll like what we find if we have patience to avoid keep on going with the QB carousel. The best QB's have been around for years and know the system SO well they can audible or run the playbook at superbly high levels. If we ever want to see that, we should actually keep a QB more than 3 years.

I think KC saw how the games were affecting his negotiations and that caused the problem. I believe once the contract situation is behind hiim he will relax into a multi year probowl talent. Remember the first 2 games there was a LOT of focus on KCs contract and then again after his 2nd Cowboys game. I say give him 6yrs 24m per year avg value an let him put football first.

Great post. If he had a complete team around him I think he would relax and not feel like he has to win the game on every throw. He had next to no defense this year, no run game, and a field goal kicker that couldn't be counted on. Amazing that He / We had as much success as we did.

Cousins - just stop whining on the radio and STFU already.

Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

Why in the hell do we get these qbs that are freaking head cases? Oh you don't feel love because the Redskins wanted RGIII to succeed over you. Boohoo. The Redskins gave you the opportunity to be able to make all this money and helped develop you as a player. My god, stop acting like a bitch and instead of being upset at the Redskins - just use this crap to motivate you to work hard at your craft. Couldn't wait to get on the radio and talk about your contract after a poor performance that helped kill the playoffs opportunity. Where's your priority? Your contract or freaking winning games?

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

I swear I've never heard a player bitch so much about making $20 million a year... And talk about showing him some love. Where's the freaking perspective? He went from being a backup qb to $20 million plus qb. And you don't feel no love and you're feeling you're being unfairly treated- For all of the people that weren't born with silver spoons in their mouths, I want to say f ck you!

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

If I was Cousins, even with the bad game against the Giants, I would be happy and be feeling good about myself. Because I'm a good NFL qb- which is no small feat- and feel I'm only getting better. And I'm about to get paid a lot of money.

Cousins is acting like... I can't think of a better description... he's acting like a bitch. Stop with this petty sh t and get over it. You have a bright future- act like it!

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

Before this, we had a qb in RGIII, that thought his sh t don't stink. And now, a qb, that wants you to not only smell his sh t but tell him that it doesn't stink. And preferably, he wants you say it smells like roses.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

Comparing that diva rg3 act while he was here to cousins is laughable. You're reaching big time and letting your frustration of our season ending fuel all this shit about cousins. He's the best qb we've had in a while and the best option we have right now and surely it looks that way for next year as well. No sense in crying over spilt milk dude

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

Cousins should have never been placed in the position of "I have to score 30 points every game" just to have a chance at winning. He had no defense, no run game, and the NFL's worst field goal kicker. Hopkins singularly cost us at least 3 games because he can't make kicks. If not for all of the above, we'd still be bitching about the giants loss, but we would still have been in the playoffs.
