Agreed, but I also feel he's a year to early to serve as a Gus Frerotte contingency plan.

Taylor will not be a qb in this league.
Maybe loser was to strong of a word to describe Jake Locker. I think unproductive is a better word to describe this guy. Outside of a few highlights he really hasn't done much. He doesn't make the guys around here better. He doesn't pass the ball all that well. Let face this kid hasn't went up against the best competition and he's still lost a lot games at Washington. Honestly don't see anything about Jake Locker (outside of his athleticism) that I find impressive. I'll give him his credit he'll make a couple of incredible plays, but for the most part he's ineffective.
The Huskies program has significantly improved in the last couple of years from 0-12 to a Bowl Game, in no small part to Locker.

Washington was 12-13 under Locker and wouldn't describe that is a significant improvement. At best they only finished a game over 500. When it comes to his production his best season was 58 completion %, 21 tds, 2800 yards passing, and 11 ints. Those numbers aren't bad but far from stellar. So I can't see how he's solely responsible for the few wins that they did have at Washington while he's been there. This kid doesn't have based on what i've seen.

On one hand, its improvement, but on the other, its regression.

Well I don't think anyone said he was solely responsible. But whatever, this isn't a debate I feel like investing in.

I heard you the first time... reading it twice doesn't change the fact that I still think he deserves a shot.

@SmootSmack

Smoot I put out fact that can't be debated. This kid had an opportunity to come out this year and improve, but he didn't do that. To be honest I was actually pulling for Jake Locker because I think he's a good and talented kid. However, he didn't perform well at all. I know it's a lot of people that's going to fall in love with his big arm and mobility. The problem is it takes more than that to win games and be productive. I can't give a guy props based on what he could do. I have to give praise or criticism based on what happens on the field. This guy did not play at a elite level. Can you debate that?

@GreekSkin

My bad Greek I didn't realize I said it twice. Maybe this kid does deserve a chance, however, I don't think going to be successful. But I do wish him luck and I hope he does well.

There's a lot that can be debated, I just don't feel like being the one to debate you

I think what Smoot is trying to tell you is that without Locker, that team wouldn't have been remotely close to .500 record. His WRs and OL sucked, and he pretty much carried that team.

Locker is a talent worth rolling the dice on. The payoff could be huge with him. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we took him at #10.

Really starting to look now like Quinn won't be there at #10. DaQuan Bowers' injury kind of screwed us.

So we'll likely look to trade down and possibly pick up Locker there. Though I'm not sure he's the top choice. Our best bet right now is a trade down with the Rams at 14. Though they may screw us by trading to 9 with the Cowboys. I don't think Minnesota is taking a QB in the first round (not at 12 at least) so I'm not concerned with dropping to 14 and risking missing out on another QB.

One week to go! Can't wait! I might actually get to sit in a war room next weekend!

Yeah seems likely that Quinn won't last til 10 now.

That's cool on the war room, which team or can't you say?

I won't feel screwed...I hope Quinn is not there. QB at #10 or a trade down...thats what I want.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the three best indicators of a college qbs performance after transitioning to The NFL are games started, winning percentage, and completion percentage. Lockers got the starts but his lost twice as many games as he won and his completion percentage last year was barely above 50%.

Locker is NOT worth rolling the dice on at ten. If we traded down and picked him up between 25 and 32, maybe. But not at ten. This team has far too many needs to roll the dice on a high draft pick, reguardless of the position
