I personally have always felt that Sean Taylor has not produced the kind of results on that warrant a renegotiated contract (as opposed to straight up extension). He has the potential to be a stud, but he's simply not in the same class as guys like Ed Reed or Brian Dawkins of old.
While I agree that he han't performed well enough to warrent top 5 safety salary, he has outplayed his original contract. IMO. |

once again those guys have amazing defenses doing their jobs so they can stay in position and not having to do everything when you have help on d that is a great thing think back to 2004 and 2005 when he had help he was playing great everyone wants to say that taylor regressed last year that is complete and utter b!@#sh%^! taylor is still as good as he was in 04 in fact he is better so lay off him guys the guy is still nasty and the 2nd best free safety behind brian dawkins and ed reed plays strong saftey so what is the problem the entire defense sucked last year not taylor look at carlos rogers has he lived up to being the number9 pickhell no has taylr lived up to being number 5 yes |

He's definitely out played his current deal; If there is actually a way to quantify that. In the end I think the Redskins will do the right thing. |

Why are so many people on this site blind? I read the Post and listen to Sportstalk 980; those are my main sources and I saw this coming a mile away. In fact I predicted the possibility of a hold-out sometime last year (most likely because of the idiotic contract they gave Archuletta). Take the blinders off people. This organization literally pisses money away on a regular basis. Sean Taylor is a universally known commodity who deserves more money than Adam Archuletta and Laron Landry. He knows that and his agent know that and I would even guess that Daniel Snyder knows that. He is a guy who will put people in the seats so he deserves to get paid. I don't know how else to explain this to those of you who think that everything is merry in Ashburn. He has not spoken to anyone in the organization in weeks. He must have forgotten that the team has OTAs... Hooskins asked me why I am overreacting. I don't view it as overreacting to promote an extension for our best player. Now when we sign a fourth stringer like David Macklin and then people ask what are we going to do with Carlos Rogers and Sean Springs? That is overreacting.
Yes I know what that means but you are speaking as you know he is holding out and I don't care who you listen to they have know clue to what is going on. He has done this before, and did he hold out? No. he got in trouble with the law. LOL I'm just say before jumping to a conclusion which is all we could do at this point is to wait and see what happens. You say you read the post on this site but could you point us to the poster who has the inside information that ST is holding out. I'm not saying your wrong but maybe you should add a "I Think" or "in my opinion" rather than state something like its a fact. |

You're taking these rumors as fact. Let's wait until the workouts become MANDATORY before we get our panties in a bunch. Until then, this is all just speculation, nothing more. Sorry but you are overreacting right now. The OTA's are NOT mandatory, and he's only attended them once in his time here. Skipping these voluntary workouts are nothing new for him. |

No doubt. This kid would command franchise tag all day long if it was his time. Anyone thinking Taylor should keep his mouth shut because of a down year is simply fooling themselves. That being said, the Skins can squash this whole thing before it get's more steam. |

The only problem is that Taylor is always being noticed for his off the field attitude and problems. The man is a baby from what I have seen. Wish he would grow and become part of this team. We need him focused and gelling with the defense. I really think if Taylor handled the coaches and his off the field life like a true professional he would have gotten his big money contract by now. Snyder may be hesitant of paying out the HUGE bucks for a guy that has not shown the type of leadership maturity needed. |
Re: Springs and Taylor miss OTAs
I look at it like this.
Until you hear Rosenhaus say something about Taylor wanting more money then it isn't a money thing. |

Re: Springs and Taylor miss OTAs
Possibly so but I don't see it as detrimental until I see Drew or read where Drew talking about Taylor's contract. Until it get's to that point which is pretty much where you don't want it to get because it will not end too well, I think it's not that big of an issue. I do feel that he deserves more than 1 mil a year.
