Re: Here comes Sally
I don't understand how that comment fits into the discussion at hand. We are not talking about women playing or coaching in the NFL. We are talking about the ability of women to appreciate, understand and analyze the game of football just as men do. Try to keep up.
The ability is there. That's not in question. This is kind of dragging out but its about who play, coach, own, and run the league. I just don't see many women who are truely interested at a high level. What is so bad about thinking that? |
Sarcasm my friend. That was Jdaly's argument originally. I was mocking it. Try to keep up.
My apologies. There's so much ignorance floating around in this discussion it's hard not to react. I've started to write several long winded replies, but I keep stopping myself. No matter how hard we try, some men will never accept women as legitimate football fans. Football will always be a male dominated sport, which is why I love it so much. Women aren't a threat, so I don't see why some men get so bent out of shape over it. |

This thread is getting pretty bad. Anyone who questions women's football fandom obviously didn't go to a football school like me, where random girls will talk your ear off in line at the bank about like the third string slot receiver. |
Re: Here comes Sally
Whatever, you still haven't named one single woman starting at quarterback in the NFL.
Edit: I am dumb. |

Yes, sir. Georgia Frontier has been owner for as long as I can remember. |
Re: Here comes Sally
I would love for several members on here to square off against my wife regarding knowledge of football, college especially but she can hang with NFL discussions with little difficulty.

I don't think the thread is getting bad. I think it's a great discussion and I will be the first to admit my own shortcomings in understanding the finer points of the game. That's one reason I joined a message board in the first place. I enjoy learning from you guys. I would think most guys would love it if their wives/girlfriends developed a love for the game. It might spare them the usual bitching they have to endure on game days. |

another reason to say women know just as much about football as men |

Seriously, I had almost posted a response to the same effect. My wife came late to the game but, now, screams hysterically at every good or bad play made. She may not be the most knowledgable fan, but she certainly is a fanatical fan. |

My wife HATED sports and football when we got married. She knew, however, I was superstitious Skins fanatic and took the time to get to know the game and the Skins. It's great. |
