Because Mitch Albom is one of the "sports reporters" for ESPN.
The best answer for that is that an ESPN reporter has to cover 32 NFL teams while a guy like JLC only has to focus on the Redskins.

Mitch covers the Lions and writes for the Detroit free press.

whats so great about mooch anyway? He sucked with detroit and he inherited a great 49ers team,am i wrong about this? at this point i dont think I give a shit anymore,I've been reading all these threads for weeks now and this is my first time to weigh in,no hire at this point is going to satisfy me,Snyder is back to his old tricks again and seems to be unraveling everything good that we felt about this team.I know he means well and spends the money, but I wish he would have never bought the team,it should have stayed in the cooke family

What are Mooch great coaching skills?

What is his reputation rating?? Not good from what I can see. Better analyst on NFL Network.

I didn't see this link (didn't really look all that hard either) but here's Mooch talking about the Redskins job on NFL Total Access.. Doesn't commit to anything, plays it very coy..

I think I could get behind this one... Hell, I'll root for the team no matter who coaches or owns it, but Mooch always comes across as an ok guy on TV, and I've never heard anything bad about him as a coach...

Yeah, but the way he is talking, it sounds like this is a strong possibility.

What's that saying? Clothes Make the Man?

Check out the color of his tie ;)

Really though I don't know what to make of all this. I partly think it's just somewhat of a ruse to keep people guessing. But that could really backfire on the team if so.

Why is anyone getting excited over Mooch. he's another sorry re-tread.
I'd take Meeks anyday over Mooch.
