Who do we have that is a top pass rusher? No one. Blitzing wasn't the way to go cause our corners were having trouble anyway. Coaching on the defense wasn't the problem today. It was the players. And even though the defense struggled today they kept us in the game the 2nd half. It's the offense where I place the blame. Scoring 9 and 14 points against two of the worst teams in the NFL is unacceptable.
The offense has not been good the last two games, especially in the red zone. But it was the thinner of the two units to begin with, and it's the one that took the first major injury.
And the offense did have trouble moving the football today. Campbell did not play very well. There was no rhythm to his work. Portis was a non factor in this one. No matter who is coaching the offense, it will have it's moments when Campbell plays well and it's going to struggle mightily when he doesn't. You just can't excuse a poorly coached defense as not having the players. You might be right, but since Blache has been our DL coach and later our coordinator, we're 0-4 against rookie QBs. How can we defend that? |

I personally think I would be looking at ditching Vinnie, and go from there. Start or consider a sweep of some kind from the top. Keep the good pieces and look at losing the not so good. For the money and time Danny has in this team.....the results ARE NOT THERE..
Honestly, I don't want to hear anything Gibbs would have to say in this matter. I'll just leave it at that. |

Let's see, Andre Carter, Orakpo, Jarmon, Haynesworth, Griffin, landry, Hall, Fletcher, McIntosh, all highly paid players except Jarmon. I would expect that our DC would figure out a way to use all this talent. Another DC would figure out a way to get pressure, I thought that's what everyone said it would happen after signing AH? |

Blache sucks plain and simple. |
I agree with about all the post...the last play of the game what was that when we could have sent kelly.thomas,mitchell.davis,cooley to the endzone with all that height and didn't even attempt it.
Mitchell was inactive. I'dve loved to have him on the last play of the game but he wasn't available. |

He should have been active instead of Alrdige. We didn't even use him. WTF? |
We didn't run right because we don't have blockers on the right side of the O-Line.
The accepted penalty in the third quarter was to push the Lions out of field goal range. Every one of us said to go for it on 4th and one at the start of the game... It's probably a good time to remember that it is just a game, so let's stop acting like it's the end of the world. If it seems that way to you, get a life. Seriously. And it's probably also a good time to remember that Gibbs went 0 and 5 in his first five games as a head coach. So how did keeping him work out? HTTR
But he finished the season 8-3. In year two he only lost one game. So after he started 0-5 he got better. Jim Zorn went 6-2 and then turned around and went 3-10 in his next 13. Kinda of a big difference isn't it? |

I would seriously look at having Mitchell take over Devin Thomas spot, Thomas is a disappointment. |
Re: Now What??
I think Zorn limps on to the bye. Then we go with an interim from the current staff--but it's hard because you can't just institute a new system. This season will play out with Zorn's scheme whoever is calling the plays. We're pretty locked in, I think.
To everyone who wants to move Gray up, isn't he the secondary coach, the secondary which is getting beat like a drum? My guess is we limp out the year, either with Zorn or an interim, and then hire a new staff, IF WE CAN!!! Remember: no really good prospect wants to come here, given the FO culture. Why ruin your future? Serious question: do you re-sign JC? Drafting a QB is a crap shoot. NOt sure what vets will be available. I think JC has looked ok, given we have NO run game. At all. WTF? What a mess. Well, we have another winnable game (on paper) next week. We'll keep muddling along I guess... (PS: was it just me or did the refs just suck ass today? Wow.) |
Re: Now What??
refs did suck a**
