Re: Jason Campbell for Vince Young ? Who would you rather have?
Here's a couple of the FAs for 2010 that should be available, better to think of these guys than VY:
Kellen Clemens, Brodie Croyle Brady Quinn could probably be picked up on the cheap at this point also. I'm not saying we should can JC yet, but things aren't looking good.
we just need a top 5 pick to get young Qb to groom, if we hire a real GM and a real coach. I am willing to have the team struggle for a few years if we can build the team right. |
Re: Jason Campbell for Vince Young ? Who would you rather have?
Is this a real question?

If we have a top five pick we need a top five o-lineman |
Whenever you get a chance turn on sportscenter or NFL Network watch the highlights from the Denver game. Orton has two legit receivers good fresh young RB & had all day to throw. He didn't have all that in Chicago JC doesn't have that here.
You make nice points . I did see the Denver game , it looked to me like Orten threw the ball on his 3rd step = he very quickly "let her rip" ? At this point I doubt it matters = we are not going to bring in OL / qb who would make much difference this year . 2 wins vs dallas , thats what I want for Christmas ... err ... among other things :) |
Re: Jason Campbell for Vince Young ? Who would you rather have?
Neither one! Let Vinny draft a QB in the seventh round.

I would give "pretty boy" Quinn a try, maybe under a different system and coaching staff (if we get our shit together) he would flourish. |
Re: Jason Campbell for Vince Young ? Who would you rather have?
After looking at this weeks game and previous games, Campbell has great numbers. But who wouldnt if you average 15 plays for under 5 yards. His decision making is very under developed, Quicker decision making and he needs to relax in the pocket. Offensive line has been giving him plenty of time, but he runs in the pocket like a chicken with its head cut off.

Right! I always liked Quinn and if our FO got it together he may be decent. Can't knock the Irish lol |

This is a sure-fire FAIL statement. |
Re: Jason Campbell for Vince Young ? Who would you rather have?
how much time do you expect for the offensive line to give campbell, We run the same play action pass over and over, the plays are so predictable.

Agreed, we run the same plays over and over and Zorn & CO have zero imagination BUT, the O-Line has been pathetic thus far in run and Pass blocking. Wanna know why Kyle Orton is having such success? He gets more than 2.1 seconds to make a read and throw the ball. I'm not putting it all on the O-Line, JC has made bad throws and decisions all year but I think he would do a little better if he could get some blocking and a little run game, huh? |

Cooley couldn't run any patterns bc the o-line sucked so bad we had to let our most reliable option block all game. Plus run that same play isn't on JC that is Zorn's doing he calls the plays. |
Re: Jason Campbell for Vince Young ? Who would you rather have?
totally agree with you, the running game has been pathetic, but sellers has not been pushing as he did in the previous years. the offensive line is blocking to the designed plays. think about the screen plays we ran over and over yesterday. it is a 3 step drop pass and go. those plays are not designed to block for a long amount of time.

Say what want about JC but he won the TB game throwing the deep ball winning touchdown. Why did we throw only one deep ball all game? Was it play calling or the fact that our line wouldn't hold up. Either way that is not going to win games point blank. The three step drop pass isn't going to cut it. Throw the deep ball at least to keep the defense honest. |
