Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
I was trying to think of the teams that have kept their current uniforms the longest without changing, but not counting occasional retro looks. We've had our design since 1979 I believe. But the teams I can think of are:
Colts Bears Raiders Packers Steelers I'm not sure how long the Cowboys have had their current design. Sometime around the 70s they changed to the aqua-colored pants when they wear white jerseys. When they're in the blue jerseys, the pants are silver. I'm not sure of any other team that does that, btw. Every other team has had either minor tweaks or complete changes sometime in the 1990s.
I think each of those teams have tweeked their uni's slightly over the yrs. The Colts probably least of all though. Watching the film today the Bills have a nice uni. I could see us using the burgundy where their blue is and using gold where they put red. Then use white as they did; stripes on the pant leg and numbers. Then we could so something similar with the whites... all white with burgundy where the Bills used red and highlight every thing with gold striping and numbers. Just to make colors pop I'd use metal flake paint on the helmet. Metal flake burgundy and metal flake gold. It's still the orginial colors but it would make the colors really stand out nice. Edit: Here is the Bills Blue uni: http://www2.pictures.gi.zimbio.com/New+York+Jets+v+Buffalo+Bills+hspxj69vWpsl.jpg I would use burgundy where their blue is and gold where they have red and use white to highlight. Here is the Bills white uni: http://www2.pictures.gi.zimbio.com/Buffalo+Bills+v+Denver+Broncos+5iDNqxf7-Gdl.jpg I'd replace the red stripe with burgundy and the blue with gold. |

1955 to be exact. |

1st uni: I could see burgundy where blue is and white where they have red and use gold for the numbers. 2nd uni: I could see (again) burgundy where the blue is and gold where they have red. 3rd uni: I could see gold where they have blue and burgundy where they have white. I would use white as highlights. |
Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
No way, that Broncos set was unique when it came out but now it's a standard with college and high school teams.
I'd love to see the current design and helmet in this color scheme, gold pants included: |
Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
Basically this mockup I did, but maybe darken the burgundy slightly, use shiny gold, and striped socks:

Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
The first picture is not bad Buster. It is more of the Gold I'm interested in. I could see a flip of the colors also, a gold shirt and burgundy pants.

Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
I have always liked the new Denver uni's and have wanted us to implement a similar design with ours.
BTW reading your sig make me want to slapa da bass man. [YT]8W3NERMKIBM&feature=search[/YT] |
Hopefully:
that with all white shoes would be nice. i still could do without the stripes on the pants though. but i think that's a really good look |

Gotta have stripes on the pants...college teams wear pants without stripes, not NFL teams. When the Ravens or Saints were the solid black pants, they look like ballet leotards. |
Re: Bruce Allen on McNabb extension, Haynesworth and uniforms
First gold pants now gold uni's? I think as far as our jerseys are concerned gold is a condiment. You can't make a whole meal with a big pile of mustard and one or two fries.
