So ur willing to give up a 2nd and a 3rd for a guy that can only play 10 games this season? No thanks.
You sign him to a long term deal so he can play 16 games for years after this season, duh..and yes I would still trade for him.
Maybe his fellow alumn (Reed Doughty) can convince him to accept a trade here.:cheeky-sm
Reed Doughty and AJ Smith went to the same school?

Read the article on Yahoo sports. This answered my question, thank you though. If he is traded they can take a grievence to the NFL Pa and have him ready to play come week 4.
But not a 2nd AND a 3rd. Although ESPN says that now his price will drop because he'll be out for 6 games. I still think that AJ Smith will not trade him just to prove his point (gotta love that attitude).
I agree with you on Smith. I thought SD would eventually cave in but with the Crayton trade, I don't think they will. Plus I really like Legedu Naanee, he could become their number 1 this yr.

I'd stated before that I was 50-50 for a VJ trade but at this point, especially with the potential of him being gone for 6 games, let's just wait until he's a free agent next season and sign him then. I don't see us giving up our 2nd since we've already traded our 3rd and 4th (McNabb & Brown) so it's probably a moot point anyways.

Malcolm Floyd has looked good in the preseason as well, so they seem to be set at WR. I think VJ is an extremely talented receiver, but I just don't think San Diego is going to trade him. And because they have no reason to trade him, they will be at an advantage in any negotiations, even now that VJ can only play 10 games.

Furthermore, given the uncertainty of the 2011-12 season, no team is going to risk giving multiple picks for this guy or sign him to a big contract.

What about Mark Clayton? Ravens are about to release him.

This may actually be the year Norv gets to the SB. The Chargers are loaded on offense and if they get Mcneil back, they have no weaknesses on Offense.

He might not be a bad pick up. And for the age conscious people, he is only 28.

Re: V. Jackson "Prepared to Sit out season"

There's no way we should trade for VJ even though we have Old Man Galloway starting wk 1. Jackson will never be a top #1 WR in this league and oh yeah he's been caught hammered twice! He had a Pro bowl QB to catch from. Yeah Jackson had 1 good season and he might be better than any WR we have but he's not worth our 2nd next yr.
