Re: Bye Week Games Thread
Maybe if we were 1-7 and done for the year, but with some more division wins, we're playoff contenders still.
Yeah Casey is bad, but the unknowns of a PS guy and the possible decline from even the Rabachery we've seen so far...not worth the risk. Didn't Rex just teach us that lesson? |
funny, I thought you would say something along the lines of:
Why do we wish bad on our opponents, shouldn't we want to play them at their best? That's how loser teams think.
Nope. Sorry to disappoint you. But I still like beating teams at their best. Just speakin' for myself though. |
Re: Bye Week Games Thread
^ As bad as Rabach has been you think a PS guy is going to replace him mid-season?
If Cook was good enough to be on the active roster, he would be already.
More then likely your right. I just see short, light Rabach getting steam rolled each week against bigger DL's. If they could have coached up this kid he looks big enough and tall enough that he "should" be able to handle most DL. It doesn't mean he knows how. |

Didn't Rex just teach us that lesson?[/QUOTE] I wouldn't have put him in cause McNabb is one of the best last few minute QB's in the league, but I understand why he put him in. I'm sure he (MS) felt like I do on Sun. when we see over throw, dirt ball, over throw, punt. The Lions game was just a bad game all around. The WR's were not catching, McNabb was drilling the ball when he should have used finess, dirt balls, over throws, getting hit on every play and knocked to the ground. But my point is the Center would have had 2 weeks to get coached up, Sexy Rexy was thrown in, in the last 2 min. of a game cold and not having played all season. Thats not fair to anyone, not even McNabb. |

Cook may be an option next year but for now we're stuck with Rabach |
Re: Bye Week Games Thread
Non-Redskins related but Shanahan related.
Brandon Marshall is the third most targeted receiver in the NFL (87 times). He has one receiving touchdown and is once again under 12 yards per catch. Going to have another 100 catch -- 1,000 yard receiving season again, and his team will miss the playoffs in part because their big-time receiver acquisition disappears inside the red zone and can't move the chains in the rest of the field. In completely unrelated news, the Redskins need to go after Chad Henne who has been a nice performer for the Dolphins, but is now taking a backseat to Chad Pennington in part because the Dolphins can't score in the red zone. Henne's TD rate on all passes not thrown to Brandon Marshall this year is a respectable 3.7% (season rate: 2.7%; Marshall 1.1%), which means that he should have two more TDs than he actually has (and probably another win to boot) except that Brandon Marshall sucks as a football receiver. |

I still say 5 will be here next season. We do need a young QB though |

We do need a young QB though
Big difference would be age, in that Henne could still develop into a great one where Campbell is what you think he is at this point. But as a take him or leave him proposition this season...yeah, they're more or less the same player. One has a sack problem, the other has an INT problem. We could still use either though. Henne in particular, because a guy with a quick release could be productive behind this inconsistent line. |
Re: Bye Week Games Thread
So the Dolphins took Beck as the QB of the future in the 2nd round...and now he's on our roster. Then the Dolphins took Henne as their QB of the future in the 2nd round, after deciding Beck wasn't the answer.
I don't know if the battle of the discarded Dolphin QBs is going to solve anything for us |

I just hope Dmac starts balling and we will be fine for another year or 2 at QB |
