Shanahan isn't getting fired.
IF he did, could he go to work at a McDonalds or WalMart?

Not until he achieves ex-con status.
Our team is not that good to begin with. We barely came out of Arizona alive and had an underwhelming performance against the Rams. Hell, if Jim Zorn could stick around after losing to the 0-19 Lions, Mike Shanahan is a lock to stay.
According to various reports, Snyder began looking for a new coach after that loss to the Lions. Zorn essentially had been fired for weeks before the announcement was made.

That said, the talk of Shanny's ouster is premature.
Seriously. All the people calling for or speculating that just need to stop. I'd go as far as to say that even if we only win one or two more games the rest of the season he'd still be safe.
I mean hell.. if Spags can hold on to his job with the Rams... That ship's been sunk for years.

Snyder indeed started looking for a new coach, but the actual pink slip didn't come until later in the season. So expecting Shanahan to see the pink slip right after the game is outright lunacy.

You know the MORE I ponder the remaining games we might not win more than 2 games the rest of the season ..other than miami who are we better than?..the cold hard facts are that to win in this league you have to have a very good QB..if Beck was not our starter what other team would he start for other than Miami?..We dont have a QB on our roster we could get a 4th round pick for..so how are the REDSKINS gonna win ..trick plays? ..its gonna be a long season ..and I am a DIE HARD fan..but also a realist.

Snyder wanted Shanahan to take over that year reportedly

I'm already quite aware Zorn not being fired that day DOES NOT mean that Snyder still wanted to keep him. I'm not that dense at judging someone's (non)-actions. But I didn't say Snyder did not want to replace Zorn. I did not say that Snyder did not want to get rid of him for Shanahan after many a drink. I ONLY said he didn't fire him right after the Lions game. But that is not enough, I must accept that Daniel Snyder did fire Zorn after the Lions game. He was no longer on the sidelines from week 5 onwards and thusly, already packed his bags and went home. Q.E.D

I agree. It blows me away that anyone would even mention that Shanny will or should be fired. That kind of talk points out that its been so long since the Skins have been a well run organization that even the fans now dont understand what should be done to make an organization successful.

Welcome to TheWarpath RnR!

For me, 7-9 is in as the prediction. Has been since the PS. 8-8 would be a very hard push.

Best case I think we're looking at another 6-10.

I'm already to the point where I'm not going to hesitate making other plans on Sundays if things come up.

Yep in fact I'm going to do more HW and play some Ball here on sundays pretty soon, I'm not wasting a day on losing football every week..

Re: Predict the Redskins record for the rest of the season

At this rate it will be a push to beat 3-13. The O-Line is a shambles, and they have made all the wrong moves there, there are no starting quality QBs, and we are schizophrenic in offensive play calling.

We're snake bit.

Our defense is frustrating, but not our problem. Our O-line and our QB are, as always, the primary points of weakness. We went into this season with the same unproven player in the #2 spot at both guard and the center positions. When Lichstensteiger went down and we moved Montgomery to guard it was over. We compounded the loss of one player by screwing up two positions and putting a rookie is as O-line play caller and snap man.

Done.

And then what do we do? We sign a guard. This leaves us with no backup at the center spot.

That one move pretty much ended my hopes for this year. Sometime after it's too late they will move Montgomery back to Center where he should be, but not before Cook gets manhandled enough to prove to the coaches they made the wrong choice.

I mean hell, we have 8 Receivers (12 if you count TEs) on this squad and 8 O-Linemen... given that 5 O-lineman are on the field, in the trenches, for every offensive play it seems to me that they could have maybe carried a few less WRs who will rarely see the field used the roster spots to create a functional depth chart for the O-line?

Naaaaaaaaaa. That's crazy talk.

Re: Predict the Redskins record for the rest of the season

As a follow-up, I was looking around the league at other teams and was surprised to find that Green Bay has no 2nd string for their Guard positions.

Their starting 5 are amazing, but it will be interesting to see what happens to that O-line if they lose one of their guards.

Also amazing to note: Green Bay has zero injuries so far this season.
