I'm curious if your opinion changes if we turn it around this season.
I think we need a Smoot smackdown thread.
Eh, not likely. Some here know I've been thinking this for a while. I don't think RG3, Mike and Kyle can effectively coexist much longer. One of the biggest misconceptions about Mike and Kyle is that they just agree on everything because they're father/son. And to be clear, it's just a football thing. They have different ideas. And their franchise QB is unfortunately stuck in the middle. RG3 and Mike aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Well, not RG3 at least. So the right thing would be for Kyle to go. Find his own path. I think, I know, he's earned a strong enough reputation around the league to do so. And, as I've said before here too, he's not a favorite of Bruce Allen. Not saying he doesn't like him. Just saying he's not guaranteed to be the next HC here, nor should he be |
Good: we were in it to win it, and maybe we are trending up.
Reed Almo Bad: our schedule after the bye and pretty much everything else.
That is what I am saying. We can improve somewhat with Oakland, but after the bye, our schedule is killer with playoff contenders from both conferences. I think the O will get back on track, as we have the personnel, but that D is fizzling badly, especially when you have two rooks starting, with at least one looking lost most of the time. |
I have not said this at all since he has came here but Mike needs to go so does the staff. They cant get this team to play. And last year we won because of a gimmick offense which obviously we don't run anymore

We do get Jenkins and Rob Jackson back after the bye. Maybe they will help with run defense, but not expecting much. |

To me it's painfully obvious that Kyle doesn't seem to open the offense up until we're in passing situations. Example...why throw a wr screen on 3rd and long in the 1st q? He doesn't seem to completely trust RG3, not to say I blame him. Too many short passes. |

Thing is a lot of folks think Mike and Kyle are joined at the hip and are a one package deal. A lot of people in here think that. I have no real opinion on the matter because I don't know if that is the case or have real access up here in Detroit to any inside info about that. Seems to me though the father and son thing is fairly deep for Mike to bring him in here. When this all first went down with MS coming, a lot of folks said that he wanted his son to take over from him as coach. Mike has a lot of $$$$$$$ already, so getting canned isn't going to hurt him, and he might get another job real quick(Jax) Another factor that I touched on is the worst case scenario where we go 2-14, 1-15, or dare I say it 0-16 and Snyder is forced to sack all of them. If that happens the new HC might want everything new, including his own QB that fits his system, and the stupid merry go round continues for who knows how much longer. The soap opera continues. Not even Vince McMahon can write this stuff! |

lol seriously? I'm pretty sure we're the ones that created throwing people under the bus. |
Well looks like the Falcons and 49ers are going to 1-2....they better fire everyone and Kapernick has looked like crap the last 2 games, bring in Colt McCoy.

Run defense wasn't that bad to be honest if you look at the stats. Bell is a big boy and with the exception of a handful of runs they hit him good. When Nate Burleson can totally smoke all 4 DBs, you are in trouble. Nate is a great WR, but he isn't a spring chicken anymore and on the verge of retiring in a few. |
Re: Redskins Lions postgame
Wow so Kyle has to go. Just amazing to me.
This franchise seems to get very little right when it comes to some moves |

Thanks for the info. Exactly what is it (football related) that they don't see eye to eye on? |
Yes it will, it will make them tackle better and cover better j/k. We had no cap space to improve the secondary this offseason, he basically has the same people with some rookies sprinkled in. Rookies are going to make mistakes and we all know Wilson and Hall aren't that good. All in all they didn't play that bad today, they aren't great then need the offense to help them out.
Maybe the case but minus one or two successful seasons the guy doesnt exactly have a track record of winning. Great coaches make the most out of what they have. He has not. He has actually made one of the worst defenses of all time. |
