Amazing how much the secondary has struggled without Hall to cover the #1 wr. Hoping he makes a full recovery but his age probably means it'll be tough for Hall to return to form. Our secondary is weak. But it could be fixed in a year, look at what denver did.
Yeah at safety in coverage they have struggled. Tree really struggled at first, but I think has gradually improved each game. Biggers is up and down. I think surely they have missed Hall, but I dont think its been as bad as I anticipated at CB. If your talking safety, then yeah its bad. Merrieweather hasnt been good and Clark is just old. Tracy Porter has been a predictable horrible signing |
Re: Our Secondary
Breeland last week.
1 Int, 5 tackles, 1 pd, 2 TFL and 2 of the tackles were third down stops a yard from the chain. I think Breeland has alott of potential I really do hes been impressive. Clark over his head has been major. |

Aside from an inefficient offense, secondary has been the major weakness of the defense. I think Amerson and Breeland have talent, but that's a lot of inexperience in an already weak secondary. |
Our Secondary
Losing Hall was a killer. He was one of those guys we just couldn't afford to lose.
Future looks bright though with Amerson and Breeland. |

Re: Our Secondary
Wonder if Hall comes back next year? Thats a serious injury

Can't outrun father time. Clark might be helping the young guys more than we know, but his own on-field performance is declining. Definitely wouldn't mind an upgrade this offseason. |

I'm sure he'll be back, but if Breeland and Amerson keep improving, I would hesitate to give either starting job back to Hall. Maybe he finally makes the move to safety. Clark is on a 1 year deal, after all. |

thats a good point...i like Hall as a safety versus covering the slot. With all our safety issues, why not throw him in the mix? If it doesnt work out we can just rewalsr him. |

Hell yeah I like Hall at free safety going forward. He always has a nose for the ball and could probably add a few lbs of muscle to make it a perfect fit. Hall is a Redskin through and through. |

I'm sure he wants to be back. Achilles is one of the tougher injuries to bounce back from. Luckily, I guess, it was in the beginning of the season so he has a long recovery window. I will be very curious to see what he looks like in camp next year. I totally agree with you in moving him to safety or at least transitioning him to safety. He has more than shown he has the ball skills, and he doesn't mind getting physical. Just wonder about his ability to close on a play. |
Re: Our Secondary
D. Hall as safety is intriguing. I think he brings a lot to the table but the concept that he could just slide over and be the D's tackler of last resort is a bit of a reach. He very much has the CB mindset ("I'm on an island, my guy won't catch the ball.") Being a safety requires playing a lot more facing the QB than running with the WR.
IF he can make the transition, I am all for it. I just think it's a bigger transition and a bigger IF than folks make it out to be. |

I know he has gotten better, but I just don't see Hall as a full time safety. |
Re: Our Secondary
As far as I remember those "questions" were unwarranted..
