You're right, maybe this will be the first time ever that history doesn't repeat itself. |
Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
Bears sign ILB Danny Trevathan (4 years, $24.5M; $12M guaranteed
Read more at 2016 NFL Free Agent Grades: WalterFootball.com Bears got the best deal of the day. ILB is not as high an impact position as others on a defense....but I cant believe the Giants with the need at LB and the dumb money they are throwing around couldn't get this guy. 24.5 million, 12 guaranteed. Hell I would have been thrilled with contract for us...good deal by the Bears! |
Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
Thought the same thing. I definitely would have paid that for him.

Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
Sam Bradford & Chase Daniel to the Eagles
The Deal: Combined (two years for Bradford, three years for Daniel) $56 million with $34 million guaranteed Some eyebrows were raised at the deal Sam Bradford got before free agency opened and those eyebrows will now be raised even further when paired with the deal handed to Chase Daniel. Fresh off playing only 186 snaps to earn $10 million in three years as a Chief, Daniel muddies the waters at the quarterback position for the Eagles. Philadelphia is now paying quality starter money for two quarterbacks, with no guarantee that either will actually turn into a quality starter Good question here by PFF...wtf are the eagles doing? 34 million guarantee in 3 years for 2 QB? ok.... |
Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
yeah, trevathan and jpp are probably the best deals so far, outside of carolina's hometown discount.

Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
Giants free agency comes from a place of panic. The GM just saw Coughlin get whacked and is out to save his job. Vernon had 6.5 sacks two years ago, and 7.5 last year. I'm also told he ranks high in QB knock downs, which basically means he is highly ranked at getting to the QB a step too late.
So basically, he's Brian Orakpo, yet the Giants gave him more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. Derp. They got somewhat better, they added four solid players on defense (solid, not great). But they'll hit the ceiling on the cap in a few years and have to blow it all up. They have a two year window to go 9-7 or 10-6. Good job. |

It's not just the Redskins experience, it's literally like 95% of all massive UFA contracts. That might even be a generous estimate too. |
Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
Out of 86 pro bowlers last year, only two were 2015 free agents.
You're getting solid players, not stars. |

Didn't see this listed yet....Giants signed Kennan Robinson (no contract details yet)

Atlanta Falcons, front and center. Tell me why the fuck did you pay 32.5 million for a guy who caught zero td last year and in 12 games had 2 or less receptions? Jaimeson crowder, our 3rd WR, 59 catches 604 yard...almost doubling sanu output. This is a day after they signed a 30 year old center to 45 million, 28.5 guaranteed 5 year deal. Atlanta, get the fuck out |
