Re: Potential trades
Trading for Lattimore is probably the most impactful move the Commanders could have made to strengthen the team for the rest of this season. We're definitely going for it now!

🏈New Orleans gets: -Washington 3rd-round pick -Washington 4th -Its 6th back from the John Ridgeway trade 🏈Washington gets: -Marshon Lattimore -Saints’ 5th-round pick
Thanks for this- I just found out-BREAKING: Washington Commanders TRADE for New Orleans Saints CB Marshon Lattimore -If he is what he is supposed to be and assume he is here through 2026- We are getting really set up for this year and next with FA and the draft. |

Re: Potential trades
Nice move! Lattimore didn't play well lately as he used to in the past, but I imagine DQ and Whitt will come up with schemes that will help Lattimore return to his best form.

Re: Potential trades
Bullshit, i dont believe that

Re: Potential trades
Good take from Sam Fortier:
@Sam4TR Commanders adding Marshon Lattimore changes the whole defense. Joe Whitt Jr. can put Benjamin St-Juste on WR2s, move Mike Sainristil back inside and be more aggressive / stop the pass better out of single high. Sent from my SM-S911U using Tapatalk |
Re: Potential trades
Holy crap, I will gladly eat my words! Nothing says confidence in how real our success is than our new GM shipping multiple pics for a star

Re: Potential trades
We will see how this trade is eventually graded and how it all pans out, but it's hard to not like it. We basically traded Jahan Dotson and a fourth round pick for a #1 CB who we have control over for the next two and a half years. Throw in the fact that we get a 5th for a 6th on top of that, and I'm more than good with this.

Re: Potential trades
Well, guess I was wrong. We are going to need him right away.

Re: Potential trades
Draft is supposed to be very weak this year-can't post the link yet- Getting a star CB with what we gave up is a steal. I would love to see a veteran OT as insurance for a very late draft choice.

Also, it looks like we still have the 3rd rounder we got from Philly for the Dotson trade, which is huge IMO. |
Re: Potential trades
Frankly to compete with the eagles (and Dallas) we needed a huge upgrade to our CB's. We got slaughtered by the eagle WRs last year. So rather than hoping for wild card, they just evened our odds. This is likely a NFC East specific move, and the only one that would have moved the needle. Eagles in 9 days. That is a tall order, hope he's smart!

Re: Potential trades
Another interesting tidbit:
@AdamSchefter The Saints previously restructured Marshon Lattimore’s contract, meaning Washington is getting the Pro Bowler on a minimum contract for the rest of this season. |
Re: Potential trades
Our remaining picks are a little lite:
Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 (from PHI) Round 5 (from NOLA) Round 7 Round 7 (from PHI) Round 7 (from PHI) He is under contract for 2 years at a pretty high amount, but with all our cap space, that won't be an issue at all. And he will be CB1 in every game he plays for us, for at least the rest of this season (depending on the draft). He is only 28, so this is a solid risk for a team that all the sudden looks like it can win now. |
