Fair enough. I saw a tweet the other day with viewers that Johnny Carson, Jay Leno, and Jimmy Fallon. The numbers drop between each one was staggering. Sadly, I think it's just a thing of the past. |

Well, there was a concern about being able to keep your doctors and death panels. One of the two was a valid concern. |

Who the hell didn't know this would happen???
https://www.the-independent.com/news/world/americas/us-politics/doge-buyouts-federal-workers-paid-leave-b2799832.html 154,000 federal workers who took DOGE buyouts are being paid to go fishing, watch Dungeons and Dragons streams and hunt for new jobs The government has generated an estimated $14.8 billion in waste on the deferred resignation program, a new report says The government is paying more than 154,000 federal employees not to work after they accepted the deferred resignation offer — and they’re spending their paid leave job hunting, doing yoga, and watching YouTube, according to a report. The figure, reported by the Washington Post, accounts for the tens of thousands of federal workers who accepted the government’s offer as of June that allowed employees to “retain all pay and benefits” through September 30 and voluntarily leave their jobs. The offer, originally sent out by the Office of Personnel Management in January, came after President Donald Trump mandated in-person work requirements for the federal workforce, the size of which the Department of Government Efficiency aimed to significantly shrink. A minority staff report from the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations Thursday also revealed that DOGE generated an estimated $21 billion in waste on mass layoffs and terminations. That figure included $14.8 billion for the deferred resignation program. |
Why would I be concerned that more people are eligible for health Insurance?
Because ACA hurt small business more then anything I can think of over the past 10 years. If an employer had 10 employees which he provided health care he saw premium increase over a 100%which would have been an increase of about $6000 a month with 10 employees. |
Inflation is up.
The latest PCE report indicates a rise in inflation, with prices increasing by 2.6% in June compared to a year ago, up from 2.4% in May. This increase is partially attributed to tariffs imposed by President Trump, which are pushing some prices higher according to CBS News, reports Reuters. As for your friend................ US steel prices are up primarily due to the recent increase in tariffs on imported steel, making domestic steel more attractive and allowing producers to raise prices. Additionally, rising demand, driven by factors like infrastructure projects and increased manufacturing activity, is also contributing to higher prices.
Inflation of 2.6 oh boy we saw inflation as high as 9.1 under Biden. Pete Buttigieg Sums Up How Trump Makes Our Lives Worse In Refreshingly Simple Way
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/pete-buttigieg-sums-up-how-trump-makes-your-life-worse-in-refreshingly-simple-way_n_6894b20de4b067651d4916a6 Americans’ lives are “different and worse” now that we have “an autocrat in power” who’s “appointing incompetent people over very important things in our lives.” 1)“So, right now we have the secretary of defense in charge of defending the American people who is accidentally texting military strike information internally to journalists,” Buttigieg said of Pete Hegseth, who did exactly that in March when a staffer unwittingly added Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal group chat. 2)“We have the person in charge of American public health who is a quack, who doesn’t believe in medicine,” Buttigieg said of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has been spreading misinformation about vaccines for years. “And now measles is on the rise in America.” 3)“We have a secretary of education in charge of your kids’ educational well-being who has spoken about the importance of ‘A-One,’” Buttigieg said, referring to Linda McMahon. “Which means she does not understand that the acronym is ‘AI.’ Which means she does not understand the most important development affecting education in our lifetimes.” 4)“We have a secretary of Homeland Security who sat on funding and did not allow it to go to Texas during the floods for at least two days, for no good reason,” Buttigieg said of Kristi Noem. I ask you why would we trust anyone trumps puts in charge of BLS ? |

The Trump admin is literally doing everything they can do to divide the country - this part doesn't surprise me as there are people like Trump all over the world. But I'm astounded by the Republicans' constant support, I'm just baffled by it. I mean, what do they think would happen once Democrats take over? They probably will do similar things to Republicans. The sad thing is, regular people like us likely will be the ones who pay the price in the end.
This is going to leave a big mark on Republican's reputation for a long time in the end. No doubt, there will be movies and books about this period of time. |

I mean, do you really believe that insulting people will convince them to listen and understand your perspectives better? (2) I find it interesting how you listed out those violent incidents (which is tragic) in your post, especially when my post did not refer to violence? I was talking about the Trump admin's actions that are creating division within the country, rather than unity the country together. At last, I'm going to be direct with you - this is likely my last response to your political posts. I have friends who are from all sides (republicans, democrats, MAGA, independent, undecided) and I always love to have political discussions with them because the discussions are usually productive (whether it's changing each other's minds or agree to disagree). Meanwhile, discussions with you are unproductive - you are being selective with what you will acknowledge and completely ignore people's points whenever they do not fit with MAGA's narratives. |
