Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

its BECAUSE we are a bad team that we HAVE to take stands when players act like trent. Otherwise, players know they can escape by holding out and telling lies about the medical staff. If we make it that easy, everyone will want out.

It's a fine line between not letting players show they can force themselves out and doing what is best for the team. It's now clear that we are not going to have a good season with or without Trent. The left side of the OL is no where near the top of our problems list.

If we get a good offer, I'm taking it, and moving on.

True, although if anyone on the left side of the OL gets injured, it will move very quickly to the top of our problems list. And Penn isn't a kid....

Yeah an injury would be bad. When I say it's not at the top of our problems list, I'm referring strictly to this season. LT is a huge concern for future seasons. Gonna spend a high pick (preferably 1st round) to get our long term answer.

SF and NE could both use an upgrade, trade Trent now

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

If Trent came back, I wonder if they’d move Penn to RT and sit Moses until he can stop with the drive killing holding penalties. Moses has been a huge disappointment this year.

We are a bad team because we have a jackass owner and an idiot gm. And you have no idea if Trent lied about anything.

Moses has been getting drive killing holds since he has been here. For the last few years I thought maybe it was my imagination that it was always 76 when you just couldn’t have a hold. Now I know it wasn’t. Just another shitty pick at the end of the day.

Trade Williams now. Get what you can. Also, do what you can to get Minkah and Jalen since both are available. If you could bring those guys in, you can let Josh go (now, in the offseason, whenever). Two shutdown corners, even at great cost, would do SO much for our defense.

Or we can dream a little smaller -- get Ramsey in exchange for Trent plus a pick. Jax wants at least a 1st? How about Trent plus something less than a 1st.

If you are going to dream, dream big. :-)

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

Ok. We keep Trent who apologizes and plays like he has to make amends to the team, and to AP in particular. He mauls defenders for the rest of the season. Ramsey and Fitzpatrick are so taken by his selflessness that they decide they want to play here and for the new DC Tomsula. They somehow convince their respective teams to do a straight up trade - Moses for Ramsey (Penn slides to RT) and Colt for Fitzpatrick.

Snyder sells the team to Jon Bon Jovi, and he immediately does a deal with DC to build New RFK with bleachers designed to bounce and a promotion for cheap tix for DC, MD, and VA residents - a promotion that magically rescinds if you are caught wearing anything that smacks of Eagles, Cowboys, or Giants colors.

Jay decides he was, indeed, over his head and steps back to OC, giving the reins to O’Connell who becomes the east coast equivalent of McVay.

We rout the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

How’s that?
