Hop sludge from the fact that they don't cold crash their beers long enough before they can. This is a huge gripe amongst the Aslin buyers. I've traded for some Aslin here and there, but until part of their business model isn't "trusting the process" and seeing that nastiness in the bottom of the can, then they don't need my money.

I've done a mixed case of RAR for several months now and they do not disappoint. August's Hyde and Marylan were bangin' (I have some 10 layers but have been saving the stouts), as were September's Slip Ons and Lumber Sexual (Again, I have 1st Meal stouts but they are taking a back seat to the IPAs). The single biggest advantage of RAR and their monthly releases is the ability of buying tickets online and picking up over the course of the weekend, instead of getting up way early and getting in line.

Burley Oak has been killing it for months now. Their JREAM beers are incredible, and their IPAs have been awesome. Between Burley and RAR, it's easier to not weep over getting beers from Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine.
Going up in a few weeks to pick some up in Mass.

Western Mass. Good deal.

If you can find it, pick up Lawson's Sip of Sunshine and Super Session (either #2 or #8). Using their beer finder, there are a few package stores that will have them. Sip of Sunshine is one of the better IPAs out there, and Super Session is a crushable beer.

Got back Friday and had a blast! Stayed at the Red Lion Inn (in Stockbridge) and hit Boston touring all day Tuesday but hit the Norman Rockwell Museum all so in Stockbridge and the Hancok(MA) Shaker Museum both worth the visit but I wanted to say our last night we ate at the Barrington Brewery and Resturant in Great Barrington and it was awesome!!! I am not the heavy beer drinker that some of you are ,can't take the dark thick stuff but this place has a good bit of everything and they brew it there! The Food was very good but I filled up on beer and I usually don't do that. The Berkshire Blond and the Raspberry Ale were two I enjoy greatly!:) Brought home a couple of case's of the Berkshire Brewing Companies Steel Rail Pale Ale and a case of Big Elm's Farm House Ale,they also brew a special "Lions Ale" exclusively for the Red Lion Inn which is very nice.I know it's a hell of a ride for many of you but it's worth it(to me,anyway).

I haven't had any beer in almost two months! I've lost almost 20 pounds - 46 pounds altogether! But I actually have to eat a fatty meal tonight to jump start my metabolism again (my weight loss has hit a road block!) So, I'm going out for pizza. And since I haven't had any beer in a long time, I am probably going to pick up a six pack tonight, but it's probably just going to be something like Bud Light. I will probably think it tastes like gold after being away from all alcohol for so long!

Yeah, I hadn't lost a single ounce in over a week! Was 8 pounds away from my healthy goal weight! 8 freakin' pounds! So, I had three slices of sausage and pepperoni pizza last night from a place called Homeslice. Excellent place for pizza! Man, it was so good! The Bud Light was OK. Still tastes watered down for me, but I didn't want to go too far off the wagon with anything more "filling", because I did wake up this morning two pounds heavier, lol! So, back to the old grind today. I should lose those two pounds back pretty quickly, but I hope this little experiment jump stars things enough to get these final 8 pounds off!

Now, having said that, I'm already looking forward to next year's beer festival in the summertime! Being about 50 pounds lighter, they'll probably have to carry me out of that festival after a couple hours, lol!

Picked up a bottle of Goose Island Bourbon County 2017 today at the grocery store, got a steal at $2.99 due to an obvious pricing error, I should have went back and filled up my cart lol

2.99?! Man that’s awesome. We got it early on Wednesday due to a mistake but still had to pay $9 per bottle. Also anyone in or near VA stock up on your hardywood gingerbread stout. So good.

Re: Let's talk good beer

Okay ,so I have told you about how I go up to the Berkshires in Mass usually in the fall for a few days (4/5) and tend to try a bunch of beers and bring home a few.Well Saturday night I got an idea and by Sunday morning I was gone. I drove to Mass ,yes all on a whim! Son in-law got back from deployment and has always loved the beer I bring back but knows it's always in the fall. So for Christmas ...from ... me , I am giving him a case of the special beer I get and bring back, 7 hours up and I spent the night at my favorite Inn up there waited till 9 am for the store to open and bought three case's. Took about 6 1/2 hours back to Maryland( I rolled) plus I got him a couple of special "pint glass's ) to enjoy his beverages! The wife can not understand how I could spend roughly 17/16 hours driving ,over $400 dollars for room ,food and gas and over another hundred for the beer, just to buy this beer .She asked why I couldn't just go to the liquor store and get beer and I LOL and said ,NO..Anyway it was a great 48 hours!Berkshires had a good 6-10 inches depending on where you were but it might be gone by now,it was 47 up there.
