[quote=jamf;1356131]Sam is trash.
GMs will have 18 games on tape. Dude won’t make an active squad next year.
You heard it here first, Sam will be a practice squad player week 1 next year.
Suck it Jiffy Lube Boys!

I think he'll probably be the backup QB here.

Yall got the patience of Dan. But hey hope the best for Sam and he gets a legitimate chance at playing Qb... here or elsewhere.

Sam will be on a roster next year ... Jamf you give way to much credit to Ron and EB for acting like they had nothing to do with Sams failure... they had every thing to do with it .. Not even CJ stroud would have overcome this Oline, play calling etc .... Oh I forgot the D was historical bad .. yea this team sounded like a great place for a rookie QB to succeed..

Sam will be on this roster next year.

There's really no reason to move on from him and his rookie contract. Even if the new regime drafts a QB at #2, you don't really know what you are getting until you see that QB in the new offense, going against NFL talent.

Sam has more than held his own over 18 games. He will, at the very least, be an extremely capable backup in the NFL. He may as well be that here - for now.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

We disagree.
I think Sam was the worst QB in the league that started the full season and the line isn’t as bad as he makes them look.

I guess we will have to wait till week 1.
I predict he will be on someone practice squad. His first and last NFL starts will be against the cowboys.

Yep, we disagree. That's crazy talk.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

So jamf do you judge every player fair? If you ask me for what we gave up for Chase or Allen they have both been underachieving.. we used 2nd overall pick for chase and got a 3rd in return .. Allen is part of the gigantic failure of the D and I think he gets traded .. so you think EB did a good job ? I think he was bad as our play caller ..just wondering how you rate the other players on this team ..

The puzzling thing about Howell is he played exceptionally well during the first half of the season.....then he fell into bad habits and never grew afterwards......this is all on Eric Bieniemy.....Bienemy had Howell passing too much without pounding the rock to take pressure off of Howell.

The puzzling thing is people still discussing a 5th round QB that our outgoing HC/GM, decided to make QB1. Who the eff cares about how he played. He's just another bad decision/mistake that Ron made this season.

He'll be a backup next year, and if we're lucky, he won't take any meaningful snaps during the season.

If we were lucky, we would have had a competent OC and o line and Sam would have been head and shoulders above where he finished. Who cares what round he was drafted in that thought process is chalked.

This franchise has never been lucky lol don't count on it now.

Do you think maybe as film is built on Sam that teams then start attacking his weakness ? Seems reasonable

EB sucks balls

SH is a back up

The season provide it , time to move on

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

You know who will be /are backups?

Bryce Young
Zach Wilson
Trey Lance
Mac Jones
Kenny Pickett
Daniel Jones
Sam Darnold
Josh Rosen (not in nfl)

With someone like kyler Murray kind of skating by...

Those precious first rounder over the last like 4-5 drafts and plenty in top 5.

Sam has shown more this year under the shittiest conditions than that entire list.

Enough with the 5th round there could be a list of qbs who outperform the 4th-7th rd draft status as well.

No patience for this fan base. Dan rubbed off too hard on a lot of folks. Can't blame the lack of patience through all the misery and suffering but being less short sighted can be a positive thing in some cases.

Heres to progress, the offseason and no more Dan!

We are lucky that we finally have a full-on rebuilt, with hopefully a competent owner, that will not meddle the way that Snyder did.

The only good thing about this season, is that ownership can move on from this regime and we have the #2 pick.

Allmost all qbs making their 2nd nfl start the first game of the season are going to have weaknesses and need to learn and grow as a player. They don't come out of the package perfect lol .. the potential is great, but we can't snap our fingers and have a perfect qb.

No one has patience 🤷
