Picking up a 6 pack after my last class tomorrow. I need something that goes down quick since Im putting it all in a massive stein. Dont want it to get warm! Any suggestions (please no crap beer -- Miller lite, Coors light, other beers that are less potent than water.)

Victory and Dogfishhead are two brands that make me giggle like a school girl.

I grabbed a six pack of that Budweiser American Ale a couple of weeks ago for Thanksgiving and it was surprisingly good. It tasted a lot better than regular old Bud because it actually tasted like real beer.

Adding to djnemo's list of Victory and Dogfish Head, I would throw down some Troegs and Flying Dog.

I'm a homer for Flying Dog because it's brewed about 2 miles from my house, and the brewery tour is excellent. Beer's pretty damn good too.

;)[/quote]Trust me, it's nothing like Bud Light/Coors Light/Miller Lite, I don't really care for beers like that anymore. It's actually dark and full. I'd recommend picking up a six pack or ordering a bottle at a bar if only to try it.

I'm just busting on ya, I'm not a beer snob even though I prefer the micros. I would at least give it a try if someone gave me one.

I'm glad I birthed this thread, I'm so proud to see it doing well two years from that special day.

Thanks Matty,

Some other great beers Daseal are Stella and Becks. I love them both, really smooth and go down easy but don't compensate on taste. Becks is much crisper too IMO.

I have the wonderful pleasure of living 25 minutes away from the Victory Brewing Company. We went there last Saturday for dinner. Got a beer sampler of 5 different beers, then went to the gift shop and got a 32-ounce bottle-conditioned ale called "Saison". 7.5%, belgian style ale with a cascade hop. So it came out real smooth like a Belgian ale but with a hop like an American IPA (think Sierra Nevada, but much smoother).

It's the greatest beer company in all the land. Every beer is amazing. Their pilsner has won countless awards.

Picked up a few Winter 6ers over the weekend...

Sam Adams Winter Lager is still one of my faves.

Wild Goose (made here in Frederick) has their Snow Goose Winter Ale that is very hoppy. Has a nice bite to it.

Blue Moon's Full Moon Winter Ale is actually quite smooth like it's Blue Moon sibling. Went down very easy, but not as flavorful as Sam Adams or Wild Goose. Recommended for those who aren't quite ready to made the full leap into micros or seasonals.

I had a few Sam Adams Cream Stout this weekend and I've gotta say it's one of the better stouts out there.

SA Winter Lager is pretty good.

Went to Dogfish Head Brew Pub last summer and had a Dogfish Head Lawnmower Light and it was a really good light beer. Can't wait til summer time again.
