I want Suisham gone the day after the season ends. I would not even let him come to camp to compete for the job. He fools you by kicking well in August and September but by the time the leaves fall you are left with the same old Suisham and it's too late to do anything about it. That's why I don't even want him in camp, becasue he will fool them into giving him the job again.
Thank you.
I don't know...that's TV talk...how about anyone different whether proven or not. This guy has had 10 years...we have even replaced the secretaries since Snyder took over and I don't think it's their fault.

The only time I ever felt like the Redskins were truely going in the right direction since Snyder has owned the team was during the second half of the season Marty was here. VC was gone and Snyder was in the background and the team really seemed like it had a plan and was heading somewhere. And I am probably the biggest Gibbs fan in the world but even during the years he was here you always knew in the back of your mind that he was going to leave eventually and we would be left with VC & Dan again.
I think a proven football man is a person w/ a good track record of handling the football operations of a team. Meaning inside and outside scouting, drafting, free agency, and the cap. If this person doesn't have 1st hand experience, then working along side of a successful franchise GM such as the Ravens, Steelers, Giants, Titans, or some other respected franchise in some high level capacity. Someone that understands today's NFL and today's player. I'd lean towards a younger GM. Someone that comes highly recommended by his peers and highly thought of by his competition.

We have a truly unique franchise w/ an owner that is willing to do anything to win. We're one of the few franchises that can say that.

VC is a personel guy, yes. I just don't think he understands how to build a team. He's had his chance.

ARE (trade)
Washington
Smoot
Griffin
Springs (trade)
Moss (trade)
Jansen
Fabini
Yoder
Thrash
Doughty (trade)
Betts (trade)
McIntosh (trade) he has had an ATRCIOUS year. Yesterday was the nadir of his career.
Portis (trade)

Sign:
Jordan gross from Carolina and at least of 1 of the 3 haynesworth/vilma/karlos dansby.

Draft:
2 OL, 2 DL, LB, RB, FS (we are not using LL properly. He is not a FS) Punter (just kidding)

This presupposes that Cerrato is NO longer in charge of drafting. Otherwise, I don’t trade ANY of those guys.

What you think?

I think thats a viable list of cuts and trades...id keep portis, because i still need a face to this franchise. Id also cut rabach and maybe even rock.
Id keep moss, and perhaps package up smauels or somebody else for a pick..
i dunno..I am starting to firmly believe the biggest problem with this franchise is the age and drop off in depth and the only way we will ever get any better is to cut ties with all the high paid, aging players brought in over the past 7 years and aquire drafts and youth that can be molded.
I stick with zorn for one more year if he fails, then i get another coach, drop campbell, drop brennan and search for a franchise qb to build around.

I think you need a lesson in salary cap 101. All those cuts/trades would drown us in cap hits.

Not that I agree with alot of it, especialy Moss. Randel El might have trade value, but I doubt the rest of the list, realy has any trade value. But, with 2010 as a no cap year it may be possible to cut anybody pro rating it over two years.

Don't worry about Matty, just set the Salary Cap to "OFF" in Franchise Mode.

Re: If You Ran the Redskins...

I think the hope of turning the Salary Cap off is our best chance of turning this thing round sooner rather than later(slim has left town). I sort of agree with most of these moves.

COACHING STAFF

I give Zorn another year to get his stuff together. I give, of all people, Gregg Williams an offer to come back as defensive coordinator if Greg Blache retires. I give Danny Smith, Stan Hixon and Steve Jackson the boot. I politely and respectfully ask Buges if he wants to retire.

PLAYERS

I'd like to cut, sign and draft more players, but I don't it's just not feasible to whack every underperforming player and sign more than 1-3 quality starters. With that in mind, the players re-signed are underlined, the players cut are in red, and the players added via the draft of free agency and in bold.

QB - Jason Campbell, Colt Brennan, Todd Collins

Look what the Falcons did recently. They went after Scott Pioli GM of the Patriots. They didn't get him. What they did get was a recommendation of Thomas Demitroff his #1 guy.

Demitroff then purged Atlanta's malcontents, hired a new coach, drafted well (for only 1 year really), signed a FA or two, and look at them now.

Really unbelievable. You can't expect a turnaround so quick, but the blueprints are there.
