Re: Clinton Portis Loves Marko Mitchell
At least he won't be embarrassing Gary Clark's #84. Great to see that number scoring TDs again....hopefully we'll see many more.

Re: Clinton Portis Loves Marko Mitchell
seems like forever since Clark did that backwards dance after scoring

That was the best. And then he'd dunk the ball over the goal post. |

I don't remember Clark ever dunking the ball over the goal post. Wasn't he about 5'10? Did he have that type of vertical? |

Maybe I'm confusing him with someone else? But I thought I remember seeing him dunk it |
Re: Clinton Portis Loves Marko Mitchell
So let's say Mitchell is a player for us, a Horton type on the offensive side of the ball this year, would that blow the whole "Hixon is a crap WR coach" theory out of the water?

I think I would still have some reservations, but if we can get good production from any of these receivers, I would happily take off my anti-Hixon hat, I still wouldn't defend him, but I would not look for every excuse to knock him like I do right now ;) Unless Mitchell came out and said it was all Moss, of course. |
Re: Clinton Portis Loves Marko Mitchell
And if Kelly and Thomas also produce?
|
Re: Clinton Portis Loves Marko Mitchell
All I know is that we've had little success WR-wise and at some point we have to figure out whether it is the coaching, simple talent evaluation or just bad luck.

I would give all the credit to JC, say that he has proven he can make avg WR's look good and that he deserves a huge contract. Then I would call for Hixon's head because he needed the qb to get his WR group going ;) |

LOL good one Matty. Everyone has a bit of luck now and again so I'm not sure Hixon gets a pass w/ one developed WR...however if Mitchell and either Thomas or Kelly have a good season I'll lobby for a Hixon avatar :) |

All of the above? If we had baller WR coaching is really not that big of a deal. QB play has something to do with the problem too. |
Re: Clinton Portis Loves Marko Mitchell
I like what I saw of Marko Mitchell vs the Steelers, especially that push-off on his TD. Definitely a keeper.
It wasn't a push-off but any wideout who doesn't initiate some contact before the leap is foolish. R. Moss gets away with it just about every time in fact more often than not they call a foul on the defense even though the wideout clearly commits the penalty. Marko did a little bit of a feeler and then abused the guy. Hell, the guy didn't even jump. |
