Re: why no extension?

McNabb definitely isn't the type of guy who would jet after one year, besides an extension is going to get done long before that.

Re: why no extension?

"I'll be here with the Redskins for years," he told NBC Washington's Dan Hellie. "We've both said it, I've said it, they've said it. I want to be a Redskin. I want to be a Redskin. Just like I was an Eagle for years, I want to be a Redskin. I want to finish my career here. There's a lot of exciting things that are ahead of us here, there's a lot of talent here, and I think good things can happen here in Washington."
taken from the post. good news, because until he signs, im worried

If Favre retires, we'll probably be paying him a lot more than if otherwise, and he knows this, which is why he's not in a rush. Plus, ShanAllen is thinking that we'll let him show that he's got the offense down in weeks 1-3, and then sign him, which is why the skins aren't in a rush. Both parties stand to gain from waiting until October.

I predict a 4-5 year deal in the $7-9M/year range with a ~$20M bonus.

If he bones in the first few games, his price goes down and we may decide to let him walk next year. Either way, waiting is to the Skins overall advantage

In an interview last night on TCD with the ever-luscious Kelli Johnson, McNabb was very convincing in saying that he was happy in Washington and wanted to retire as a Redskin.

Re: why no extension?

I guess I could see why the media is trying to manufacture a story about McNabb possibly leaving after one year, but it seems to be very inconsistent with the character he's displayed over the years. And from what I can tell, he probably would have been very continent retiring as an Eagle while enduring all the BS those fans heap upon him every season.

So while it's true he would like to play for a contender in position to win it all, McNabb doesn't seemed too obsessed with winning a Super Bowl. And wouldn't winning in the NFC East be the ultimate payback to the Eagles organization and their delusional fans.

He'll be with us for a long timo, a long long timo.

He will retire after he is 44 years old, and will win 7 straight super bowls with the Redskins, creating the "Super Dynasty"

Now if thats not optimism, I dunno what is..........

There is no way, that he is paid less than 10-11 million a year.

This is just the way it is right now for a franchise QB. Nothing cheaper to be honest once the bonus is spread evenly across each year it would most likely be in the 13.5-15 mil a year range.

I for one want to pay the man and keep him here for as long as he can play.

He deserves and will get Brady, Manning, and Brees money.

No, it'll be in the range of 11 or 12 mil a year, not 13.5 - 15 / year tho..........

Re: why no extension?

3 years, $30 - $35M deal, SB of about $15M.

Re: why no extension?

4 years, $42.5 million.

Re: why no extension?

I'm thinking he waits until Manning/Brady/Favre get their deals done and then gets something slightly smaller than the average of their deals. That's probably why it hasn't been done yet, because his agent wants to see what the other top notch qb's get. Btw I know Favre doesn't need to get a deal done but I'm including him based on the notion the Vikes are trying to give him more money to make him come back, even though that point is moot now that Favre's in Minnesota and most likely coming back.

I would agree that nothing really happens until Manning/Brady

If I were to guess, I'd say 4 years, $49.2 million, $19 million guaranteed
