Please don't get mad at the messenger. |
Re: Report: Redskins Have Traded for Jammal Brown
NYC why would we shoot the messenger. If anything, it seems as though we got our guy and the cowboys line is not as formidible as they thought.
I love this move. Should Brown be our LT for the season though? I would think it may make more sense to put Brown there over TW. |

Williams to be a RT at #4 especially when he's gonna get a chestload of money (bad investment). Also Brown will be rusty since he's been out for a year but if he looks better at LT than T. Williams @ Training Camp I'd think about a swap but I wouldn't rush it. |
You guys are right, we are doing "almost" exactly same thing what we always have done, however, with a very different regime.. Allen and Shanny make much smarter choices than Vinny and Snyder.. And not to mention, Snyder isn't involved with all of those moves.. It's becoming obvious Allen and Shanny want to win now or soon, so they are making those kind of choices.. I am not saying that because we have Allen and Shanny, we are guaranteed to good season with all new additions, but that we have better chance of being successful.. Don't forget we still have Haynesworth, if we could trade him then we probably would get 3rd round for him.. Pretty a good trade, Brown for Haynesworth..
Since we are in different Redskins era now, we don't really know what to expect because the whole system from up to bottom, on & off field is different. I am in 'wait and see' mode..
I really don't think this signing is anywhere similar to any big time signings in the past. Now, one could argue that we are still trading future picks for players, which is similar to what the previous regime did. However, in this situation I think this is understandable given the poor shape of the offense and the mess that this front office has to clean. Still, this is still a gamble by the FO and I truly hope this works out. |

Agreed on the money part of the situation, but I would also add I don't think if he starts on the right that he would stay there. He is our LT of the future, and I would assume that Bruce let Jamaal B. know this when we aquired him. It is all about the competition though so I am sure that KS and MS will have our best LT playing that spot when we take the field against Ware and the cowboys on Sept 12. |
Well, that F'ing sucks!!!
Brown failed his physical. Jammal's hip injury apparently worse than was let on. ESPN: Brown fails physical, trade to Redskins nixed
before looking at anything I am guessing this is a trick by JR. He got me once on a Samuels note, but this time I am saying no. Now to click the link and keep my fingers crossed that he was bluffing. note I see by the url in the advanced page I was right... You can't get me no more JR! |

Well, I always get around that by posting whatever news story the quoted as a source. Honestly I feel they are good at being a hub where you can find other news stories, but they suck when they are the main source of the news, rumor, etc., etc. Honestly, sometimes they way Florio and his ppl talk about players, makes you wonder if they like football at all. Sometimes the sound so hateful when talking about players (i.e. when they drop the F bomb talking about Clinto Portis). |
Re: Report: Redskins Have Traded for Jammal Brown
I think this move will help in the Westbrook situation.

Re: Report: Redskins Have Traded for Jammal Brown
Brown was going to have to compete w/ a 4th round pick from Towson....that football powerhouse north of Baltimore. How in the world would New Orleans know what they had in Jermond Bushrod if he never got a chance to play? Now this 4th round pick from Towson is protecting Drew Bress' blindside. Amazing...

To replace Rabach? Definitely. Old and solid > Old and Rabach |

At this point, this is my biggest fear: The Regular Season (Jaws theme playing in background) We have seen many off-seasons come and go, each with its own hype and hope. Everything looks SOOOO much more organized/professional/right track etc. BUT it's still off season. I can't wait till we see this team take the field, and hopefully we get to see a meaningful season. |
