Re: If Pryor entered the supplemental draft would you pick him.
You're talking about a situation designed to make the top 1% of athletes happy. Again you start paying athletes and suddenly other sports that provide kids with scholarships and educations get cut. Swimming, softball, soccer, tennis. Schools would directly be attempting to buy championships
Many schools would be forced to cut a lot of these sports that fail to generate revenue so they could pay their football and male basketball players. In fact many football programs across the country would be dropped all together seeing as how only 57% generate revenue. Tuition is already high enough, why should everyone else pay for these kids to drive around in cars and paint their bodies with tatoos when they're already getting paid to get an education?
I am not saying pay them millions of dollars, I am saying let them make their own money. If someone wants to give them a few 100 dollars for their autograph then so be it. |

Maybe you have a point. Though I am not about to admit I'm wrong on the internet, I'll give you a "might be wrong." |

Good enough for me |
Re: If Pryor entered the supplemental draft would you pick him.
wouldn't touch this guy. he's simply not an accurate enough passer for the pro game. imo that's something you're born with. to his credit he's gotten better but stlll not good enough. i really wouldn't judge the guy on the off the field stuff. these guys are 18-21 year olds and people forget that. these guys are going to make mistakes.
Yeah that worked out real well for Vince Young didn't it? I can see it now, Pryor ripping off his burgundy and gold jersey and shoulder pads and throwing them into the stands as he runs off the field crying like a little pre-madonna BIA!!!! Vinny doesn't run this show anymore boys and girls. We draft through the draft with good, solid picks. Not supplemental namby-pamby showboaters who can finish college because they derailed a powerhouse football program and broke it into shambles. This topic is a done. Time this tread was locked. Anytime now Mods. lol |
Re: If Pryor entered the supplemental draft would you pick him.
don't lock it yet!
I know this dude has baggage, but I was impressed w/his apology, particularly his words about his coach. He seemed sincere, that's a good start. He may have just needed a humbling experience like this. His game needs a lot of work, but that can be fixed. I'm back to thinking he's worth a 4th. |

Jeremy Jarmon2.....no thanks.

Re: If Pryor entered the supplemental draft would you pick him.
Kiper is right. If a team does take a shot at him it is at the Wr position. Sorry guys, I am a Big Ten guy and the kid is talented, but in Columbus many if not most of the folks you blogged or talked to thought he really progressed as expected. His decision making never really got much better from his freshman year. He still forced the ball at critical junctures in key games. On top of that is indeed his character. He is an all about me type of guy. Why would you hock special awards and momentos for lousy tattoos.

Re: If Pryor entered the supplemental draft would you pick him.
Ya I'd throw a real late pic and then use him as a gadget WR he has freakish athletic ability don't think he will ever be an NFL qb

One of the rare times me and Gus Frerotte will agree on something. |
Re: If Pryor entered the supplemental draft would you pick him.
no, dont waste a pick on a project when we need a starter. character flags too, and beck had better college stats, not that i think he's any good either.

It would STILL create a unfair advantage. The rules are set up to make it even across the board as it should be. Also, a big **** NO on drafting this kid. I don't care if we use a 15th rounder in the 2035 draft. |
Re: If Pryor entered the supplemental draft would you pick him.
AdamSchefter Adam Schefter
Only two players eligible for supplemental draft so far are Georgia RB Caleb King and N. Illinois DB Tracy Wilson. No word yet on T. Pryor. |
