NFL is taking away millions of dolllar of salary-cap space from Cowboys and Redskins for how they front-loaded deals during uncapped year. great....
Wtf? |
Re: Redskins 2012 Salary Cap Status
36 million getting taken away from Redskins... can be split between 2012 and 2013, however we want.
Sweeeeeeeeeet. |
Re: Redskins 2012 Salary Cap Status
nm was beat to the punch.
|
Re: Redskins 2012 Salary Cap Status
That is utterly insane. can the amount be appealed?
|
Re: Redskins 2012 Salary Cap Status
WHOA! Thats quite a bit. Gonna make Free Agency a lot harder for us now.
Even if it can be appealed the timing basically neuters us... |
Re: Redskins 2012 Salary Cap Status
36 mil lost. Frickin ouch!
|
Re: Redskins 2012 Salary Cap Status
They should've thought of this before they made the trade. No we're really ****ed.
|
Re: Redskins 2012 Salary Cap Status
Well I can see a ton of cuts coming. This is utter bullsh*t for us and the Cowboys IMO. Did the league warn of what the consequences would be? How 'bout these f*ckers don't have an uncapped year then.
So that leaves us with what, $13 mil of cap space? (Assuming we had $31 mil of cap space per PFT and that they split the $36 mil in two years) |

I dont really see how one thing has to do with the other... |
Re: Redskins 2012 Salary Cap Status
a) How is this remotely fair? Shouldn't the NFL (a collection of owners) have set the rules regarding this before the uncapped year started?
b) How is this remotely fair that this is announced the day before free agency starts, rather than weeks ago? |
Re: Redskins 2012 Salary Cap Status
That is f-ed up... 36 million dollars of salary cap space for front-loaded deals during uncapped year.
The nfl is just making rules up as they go along. |

And it sounds like the money we have to give back will be given to other teams for them to spent on their free agency. Sounds like a big hott pile of bullshit to me. Wonder if the redskins had any idea this was coming? |

They don't I can't understand how the league would approve the contract restructures of Haynesworth and Hall, then turn around and say it's obvious you were trying to circumvent the rules...so we're going to punish you |
Re: Redskins 2012 Salary Cap Status
I don't think I am being a blatant homer when I think this is serious BS. I can't even comprehend how the league could possibly do this. No actual rules were broken and isn't telling teams things like they league supposedly did ripe for a collusion charge?
|
Re: Redskins 2012 Salary Cap Status
that's a lot of money... I'd load up on sub 3mill/year guys and take as much off the books as possible. I'd still try to trade out carr for hall though.
