Re: Redskins Lions postgame
Before we send Shanahan packing let's start with Haslett. Enough is enough, I'm tired of looking at his face, promote someone as DC, they can't be any worse than Haslett.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame
I don't think it's wise to get rid of anybody. But I think it's time to re-adjust expectations because this team is still trying to get back to its identity of last season while also dealing with RGIII's injury (and with that - protecting him more this year).
This team is probably not going to make the playoffs and everyone just has to accept that fact. What fans should do is look for signs for improvement for next year. That way it's not about winning or losing when you watch the games and the games will be more entertaining. I'm not leaving out hope that they can't turn this around, but 0-3 is just too big of a hole to dig out of to start the season. I also don't want to blow up this whole thing because of a bad start that had a lot of things that went against the Redskins this season so far. Blow it up and hope for what? The next Chip Kelly? No, I'll hold out at least until next season when Alfred Morris and RGIII are more seasoned and probably more prepared with RGIII healthier. And there will be more cap space with the possibility of bringing in more db talent and maybe drafting a speedy wideout that can catch the ball. If they can't get anywhere by next season, then I say fire everybody. |

I think bucket was just freezing that moment in time to show us how close we were to winning- not that it was a bad call |
Re: Redskins Lions postgame
The franchise likes to shoot itself in the foot and to be honest because of this Snyder has got himself cornered where he dare not do anything when maybe it should be done because of the never ending drama he has created over 14 years as being the owner. He handled Norv wrong in firing him mid season, got rid of Marty after the team was finally buying into his system, just because Marty wanted to be GM also. He hires Spurrier, who should not have been hired, as anyone should have told Snyder that his system wouldn't work in the NFL. Bringing Gibbs back was a good move, but not when Gibbs was chained with an idiot Cerrato. Zorn was just a fill in, a tragic fill in, that got thrown under the bus until Shanahan or Cowher was available. Now we got a stud QB, and a decent GM(so it seems), but our coach obviously was overrated, thus we have to ride this roller coaster for probably through 2014 only to start over again with a new HC/OC/DC which of course means we will have to revamp a large part of our personnel, mainly on the D, which means another 2 season of mediocre football, and a bunch more bitching by us.

Pretty much. It just seems we are always a few inches away from being a good team. I don't think it's time to eliminate anyone from the coaching staff. Haslett seems to be on his way out, but a win next week before the bye and a weeks rest could prepare us for our schedule. I'm not ready to give up, but I'm starting to wonder if Mike wants to run more traditional offense similar to what they run with Cousins, and Kyle isn't ready to give up his RO yet. |
I don't understand the fire Haslett talk either. He blitzed a lot today trying to get pressure. I actually thought today He mixed things up pretty well. We just don't have good players on defense.
He's the worst DC in the NFL setting records for futility. He is an embarrassment!! |
In the last 15 years I think the two most apathetic Redskins teams were in 2009 and so far this year
Good observation. Players gave up on Zorn. Players have given up on Shanahan. Time to move on. It's a damn shame to think of all the quality coaches we've missed out on the last four years. |

The #Redskins have allowed 1,464 yards through first 3 games, most in NFL history. This speaks for itself. @granthpaulsen Trent Williams: "It doesn't feel good to be 0-3. It sucks. But there's nothing we can do about it now." #Redskins Nothing you can do about it Trent? You can ****ing start playing with a purpose and like you guys are being paid to do. |

Norv deserved to go, but not like that when the season could have been salvaged with an outside shot at the playoffs still a possibility. A long shot yes, but it could have happened if he was allowed to turn it around. I don't think it is good to fire coaches mid season as you might as well write off the rest of the season. Give these guys time to make the necessary adjustments and see where it leads. Right now this team is lacking in some basic fundamentals as the tackling issue shows and the sloppy penalties. |
Absolutely in the sense he's the HC and it falls on him. Buck stops with him. And Kyle has to go. Love him to death. Tremendous person. Good friend, don't want him here anymore
Ss, I like many always appreciate the insight. But gotta say this is kinda earth shattering of a comment. It's that bad? Seems like going into the season the coaching staff would more on the same page. Just kinda doesn't make sense this early in the season to be feeling this way of "Kyle gotta go". |
Re: Redskins Lions postgame
Why get rid of the coaches when it's much more about the way the players are performing and executing than anything. I was saying this in preseason about the drops. The drops will kill the offense. This team, whether you like it or not, will always continue to be driven by the offense.
But what the defense needs the most is - strong man-to-man corners. |

Ravens fired Cameron and won the SB. |

Not disagreeing, but we could have the best DC in NFL and it wouldn't help us tackle better or cover up we have a bad secondary lacking talent. |

You can ****ing start playing with a purpose and like you guys are being paid to do.
This is the attitude under Norv, where Redskins Park was likened to Club Med. It is time to get rid of the outrageous salaries. You have to give these lazy, overpaid ****s some real incentive to play. Have everyone play at the current minimum salary and everything else is added up per game. You know how college players get stickers on their helmets for good plays, pay the bastard for yardage gained, scores, tackles, INTs, fumbles forced, recovered fumbles, etc almost like fantasy, but with $$$$$$$$$ not points. Seriously now, Trent will be a rich man whether or not he ever plays in another playoff game in his career, so where is his real incentive to win? Work ethic? Personal honor, etc? These concepts are long gone in terms of street mentality. Why do you think Gen X is holding down the greatest number of jobs in America with the smallest unemployment rate? We are the last generation that has any style of old American work ethic and the culture we grew up in was under Reagan, where you worked to get ahead. The street punks that are drafted in the last 10 years just see a big payday and just show up for the paycheck. Only a handful of the younger players really want to win, or really care about a legacy as a player. This is what the NFL gets by trying to promote Hip hop culture. |
