Re: Around the NFL Week 13
Completely disagree. Would Carroll trade draft picks for McNabb? RG3? Re arrange the defense? The reason Seattle is better than we are is simple. They've made better personnel moves than we have. End of discussion.
I'm not reading much on the other side of this (ignore listed) but regardless nobody can make an honest argument against your points here. Seattle is so packed with depth it almost seems unfair, and that's only possible through brilliant drafting and their handful of FA movies, most of which happened under Carroll. Mike on the other hand has been way below average in both draft and free agency. And his handling of the roster, both inherited and hand-picks has been abysmal. But more importantly, what Carroll adds on game day is something mike hasn't achieved in over a decade. Bottom like is Carroll is a far superior talent evaluator and coach, arguing otherwise just smacks of ignorance (witch burners). |
I think you need to look at Shanahan's career and see the QB's he's worked with and players that have flourished under his control. Last time I checked, he's won 2 super bowl championships. Until Pete even sniffs one, I think this conversation is over.
I'm not saying Mike's done well here, just that Pete Carroll isn't a better coach than Mike. Mike's made some bad decisions here (mostly staff related) that have really affected this team in a major way. I'm just sick and fucking tired of hearing how X coach came in and turned Y team around. The problem with these anecdotal stories are that they aren't the same circumstances nor are they the same situations. How cares though right? It fits in to your hating agenda so carry on Ahab with your hunt. Mike is bad, every other coach in the NFL is better. We get it....we really do. /s
When you start talking about coaching career your credibility goes out the window. Who gives a s what Shanny did before in Denver. Yea he won a SB after acquiring a team with talent on it. After that he was consistent for a decade then got run out of town. IMO that means jack here in DC. It's not that Mike is bad, he has done a lot of good since he got here, and 3 weeks ago I still wanted him back. Now I could care less if he stays, and I would actually prefer if he goes. After 4 years there's no excuse to win 3-4 games in a season. Especially when we can play 1-2 quarters of good football then lose the other 2-3. That right there is an indictment on Shannys inability to get the best out of his players at all times. As for Carroll if you don't think that he has that team playing better football than anyone else in the NFC I don't know what games you are watching. He might not have won much w the pats, but who gives a s about that now, bet no one in SEA does. I don't see how anyone stops them at home, seems like it will be them vs NE or DEN in the SB this year, should be a good one. |

Not very likely , and there is a metro stop with in walking distance .I would rather be off 495 than try and find parking or driving to downtown DC . |

Re: Around the NFL Week 13
Folks no one winning in Seattle in the playoffs. The Russell Wilsons dominated last night.

Twice before. He was head coach of the Jets for a year as well. |

lol. Come'on, you know Seattle a borderline Wild Card team without Wilson. There OC called a perfect game too. Play design and execution was flawless first half. Seattle Oline manhandled a good Saints D-Line. |

No Wilson and they may win 7 games but I'm JS he's got a boatload of help around him, any QB could look good with time he had back there and actually having a D stop people. Dude is a baller though don't get me wrong |
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
Seattle is super solid all around with or without Wilson. But games like last night you can't deny he makes them better.

He looks like Brady when the Patriots were winning super bowls. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
I think the 49ers are the only team that can remotely compete with Seattle at their place.

Not even sure they can based on how they have played there the last two times. But the hatred might be similar to jets vs Pats and they may be able to pull off an upset. I think Carolina would be the best bet to travel anywhere and steal a win or two. |
