Only watched bits and pieces of the game, i'll watch it tonight.

Everytime I was watching it looked like Alf and who?Matt Jones was gashing them with the run followed by the defense forcing a punt.

I love this gameplan. Run the ball, kill it in terms of time of possesion and give the defense time to rest and gameplan and pass rush.

Tip of the cap to Barry and Billy C and to J/McVay.

Good win.

Short turn around though, got to get the team ready for a the Gints.

Hail

I'm really happy about the compete level and culture moving in right direction. Being tough to play against is the first step back into relevancy. The past couple years have been embarrassing with how easy skins were to play against

Pulse check of the NFC East in my office:

1. Skins Fans: happy, smiling

2. Cowboys Fans: quietly confident, but not talking smack with Romo down

3. Eagle Fan: we got one and she is playing dumb..like what happened, I didnt know about Chip...whatever...is bs

4. Giants Fans: Amazingly arrogant at 0-2. Laughing about the skins, saying this Thursday night is an automatic W. One told me Skins shouldnt show up, just forfeit.

WTF...really Giants fan
I posted that yesterday 37:54 and 37:44

The average fan who never played the game does not realize how much more physically demanding it is to play defense than offense. As my college football
coach used to say "Fatigue makes cowards of us all". Using the ground game to control the clock is going to beat down a defense and make even pro bowlers
play like scrubs. While the same time your defense stays well rested and fresh.
The rules are geared toward the passing game these days but it appears the Redskins can beat people old school by running the ball down the opponents throats.

That's what I'm talking about, 1,2 punch to the ribs each time will wear them down. Another reason our defense is playing so well, they've been
on the field for an average of 22+ minutes a game getting lots of rest.

Dare I say - the Redskins' style of play this season reminds me of Gibbs's first stint. Back then, I couldn't appreciate it and wished for something more flashy - now I love it. If it continues, they'll be competitive in every game.

This was a Matt Jones 25-yard run. He wasn't touched until he'd gained 15. Look at blocks being held as he gets edge.
Ha,ha not that old, didn't know that wasn't coach's original quote, and I never Googled it. I always thought about it when I was gassed after a hard workout
or other exertion, thinking "I couldn't kick my grandma's ass right now."

profootball focus: Redskins-Rams

— QB Kirk Cousins (+0.9) did what he needed to do to win this game, but not much more than that. He finished with a +0.4 passing grade, throwing plenty of short throws and letting receivers do the rest. Of his 27 attempts, only five of them were thrown beyond 10 yards downfield, of which he completed two for 56 yards. Of his 203 yards, only 91 of them were in the air, the rest being gained after the catch. That percentage (44.8% YIA) was the sixth-lowest among QBs across the league this week.

— A great day for DE Jason Hatcher (+3.7) rushing the passer that doesn’t show up in the sack column due to the Rams’ strategy of quick passes. Hatcher had five QB hurries and finished with a +4.9 pass rush grade, which was the highest among either team. He struggled elsewhere however, finishing the game with no tackles and a -1.3 run defense grade.

— The Redskins did well to win the game considering the very poor play of C Kory Lichtensteiger (-10.0). He was constantly beaten when pass blocking, surrendering a sack, a QB hit and an additional hurry en route to a -4.3 pass block grade. His run blocking was arguably worse (-5.8). If you take away RB Alfred Morris’ (-2.4) 35-yard run (a zone play where Lichtensteiger received double team help), the Redskins ran the ball on either side of Lichtensteiger 10 times and gained 11 yards. The Redskins averaged 6.33 yards per carry (27 rushes for 171 yards) everywhere else in the game.

Top Performers:

DT Jason Hatcher (+3.7)
TE Jordan Reed (+2.3)
ILB Keenan Robinson (+1.9)
TE Derek Carrier (+1.9)
OLB Ryan Kerrigan (+1.5)
