What does it mean when one side wants an investigator combing through records and the other side doesn't?
Williams brought up the medical issue, not the Redskins. Now that the Redskins have made it clear they would welcome a complete and independent investigation by the League and the union, he doesn't want that to happen. How stupid does he think we are? He leveled an accusation and refuses to allow it to be looked into. Sorry, but at every turn he gets more difficult to believe. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Trent made some pretty serious accusations against the team and for him to not want a full investigation now is just laughable. Trade this guy already.

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
An accrued season is a season during which a player has been on a team’s roster for six or more regular season games.
- Players will receive an accrued season while on the team’s roster, receiving their full pay while on the active/inactive lists and injured reserve list. - Players will not receive an accrued season while on the team’s practice squad, physically unable to perform (PUP), non-football injury (NFI), or the Exempt Commissioner Permission list. https://www.hogshaven.com/2019/7/13/18660847/salary-cap-nuggets-no-10-accrued-seasons-and-their-importance-in-the-cba ------------------------------------ ...
Skins placed TW on the NFI Reserve list. If the above is correct and he is on it the next two football games, I imagine that would prevent TW from accruing enough weeks to get the year to count. Both sides are going full hardball at this point, and the Skins have by far the stronger leverage. Trent's next move is to simply retire. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
What a shit show -- all around. I am trying to think of another situation in which a popular, star player with so long a tenure with a team (playing through injury and otherwise showing leadership) had a beef with a team blow up like this. I just can't think of one.
Not absolving Trent of mishandling this, but man this sort of thing seems to happen to only one team. |

Plus after losing a full year of salary, TW might be willing to just get the heck out of here and play for another team without necessarily wanting a new contract immediately. And that'll also help in trade negotiations. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Apparently it could cost him $6 mil, but I'm not sure it has any impact on an accrued season since he reported...but I can't find anything on that. That would be big, if there's still two seasons left on his contract.

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Man I wish he was traded. This will now be a daily thing all the way through possibly the start of the draft.

The Skins put him on the NFI list, ending his season and he doesn't get the accrued season since he won't be on the active roster for week 10. I'm sure he's gonna fight it but fuck him at this point. Just wish we had traded him already so we could have a spare pick and he'd be out of our hair. Instead we gotta talk about him until the new league year starts. |

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Obviously the relationship is broken beyond repair. TW has played his last game in a Redskins uniform.
Looking like BA is being patient and letting things fall. Once the season is over, and the draft order is set, BA needs to let all the teams know he is 'open for business'. I still think Redskins can get a first round pick for TW. And it will be a better pick than if he was traded mid-season. |

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Whether it's Trent fault or the Redskins, who comes out looking bad? I have never seen an NFL team that fails at PR like the Redskins do.
