My man, your credibility is waning. If Gilmore was still a worthy asset to a squad and there wasn't something seriously wrong with him - Bill B wouldn't have released him. It's that simple. |

+1 Let's take the cue from Collins, Jaylon Smith and Gilmore. This is the way. |

Bill doesn't usually play well with players who tried to leverage against Bill when it comes to money. Gilmore definitely lost a step but I think he can still contribute some on the field. The real question is would he be interested in signing with us? |
Re: Around the NFL

I'm not saying he's still amazing I'm js he's better than Fuller and Jackson... Like those 2 have been fucking awful

Gilmore still in the PUP list too. |
Re: Around the NFL

Another way to look at it: The Patriots are 1-3 and probably will not make the playoffs. I think they might be freeing up cap space to reload for next season and giving up on a guy that has been injured.
To say Gillmore is trash is not right either. I doubt Gillmore will regain 2019 defensive player of the year ability. But if Gillmore can get healthy he can help a playoff team. |
Re: Around the NFL

Sam Monson
@PFF_Sam Gilmore's 31 & coming off his worst year basically since he entered the league. The number of teams playing as much pure man as the Patriots is smaller by the year. I'm not sure the market for him is gonna be the flames people expect it to be. That's not an insignificant gamble |
Re: Around the NFL

Sam Monson
@PFF_Sam I always felt that the idea of Jaylon Smith was better than the play of Jaylon Smith. I'm sure his upside is higher in the right defensive system, but I'm not sure it will ever match his athletic tools. |

Re: Around the NFL

I dunno, I think the Patriots are pretty damn good. That defense is at least.
Its how far that rookie can take them. |
Re: Around the NFL

Gilmore was a stud a few years ago. Injuries and an off 2020 ... Im sure he will have a line of suitors offering him a team friendly 1 year deal.
Cowboys is my guess. Jaylon Smith ... cowboy fans are pretty much in agreement re him for a few years now. Dumb signing, liability in coverage, slow to read/recognize/react |
