Re: Potential trades
It seems a bit of a risk as he hasnt played a whole season a few years, but based on muliple suitors, Washington wasnt alone in interest. It seems hes mainly a man corner, which implies more blitzing opportunities. So I can see how that part works. Im sure we paid a touch more but thankfully we had that dot
son pick on hand. I dont think this happens if we didnt. So swapping wr 4 for CB 1 plus a couple mid rounders makes sense, even if there is an injury risk. I dont expect they would extend him due to that concern, who knows. Even if he is an average cb, hes still a big upgrade. I just dont know who will be cb 2? |
Re: Potential trades
Another interesting tidbit:
@AdamSchefter The Saints previously restructured Marshon Lattimore’s contract, meaning Washington is getting the Pro Bowler on a minimum contract for the rest of this season.
I think it's safe to assume that Lattimore is one of those players who want to be traded to our team. |
Re: Potential trades
So after giving a 4th for Trey Lance, Jerry gives a 4th for an end of bench WR
Lance not even the 2nd QB in Dallas.
Jerry is obviously no longer competent to be his own GM. Now, he's just making inconsequential moves in an attempt to make the Dallas fans think he's got things under control. But it won't work. His poor decisions have gotten his franchise into a deep hole from which he thinks he can dig his way out but it's not gonna happen. |
Re: Potential trades
Lattimore for the equivalent of 2 mid round picks I can live with. Like to thin they have at least one more deal they're trying to make for an edge rusher maybe.

Nah, staying on a team who just fired their coach midseason is a riot. Just think us last year when we fired Jack Del Rio. It is the ultimate worst case scenario, especially for a guy who has been stuck there for years with no hope to get out. He should be estatic! Worst to first And you get paid a ton. Man, I wish! |
Re: Potential trades
I cant see any more trades, too thin on draft capital, plus we are ok now.

Re: Potential trades
Just think of the vets we have now on defense. And our offense is doing great without a ton of age

Re: Potential trades
Commanders checked in on D.J. Reed
The Commanders have made their deadline splash by landing former Saints corner Marshon Lattimore. Before they did, however, they did look around the league to address that need. As The Athletic notes, Washington checked in with the New York Jets to see if corner D.J. Reed was available but was told he was not. Teams gauging price on Giants rusher Azeez Ojulari Teams are checking in with the New York Giants to see what it would take to land Azeez Ojulari in a trade, according to The Athletic. The report notes that the team is looking for a high fifth-round pick or late fourth-rounder as compensation. Ojulari is slated to be a free agent this offseason. player headshot Tyler Sullivan |
Re: Potential trades
Grant Paulsen
@granthpaulsen I'm told the Commanders are trading their third round pick, which is currently 21 picks lower than the third they got from the Eagles. Pick 72 - came for Dotson Pick 93 - original 3rd Big difference. My add - That Eagles pick originally came from the Dolphins. So we all need to be rooting against Miami the rest of the season. Don't have a 4th, so want that 3rd to be as high as possible. |
Re: Potential trades
Not a huge fan of this deal, but I trust Peters completely.
The biggest thing, as mentioned by others, is the trickle-down effect of BSJ moving to CB2, and most importantly, Sanristil back in the slot where he belongs. |
Re: Potential trades
Packers trade Preston Smith to the Steelers per Schefter.
|
Re: Potential trades
Does he play Sunday or we wait until Eagles game?
apparently its unlikely due to cap implications that they move him:

Oh, I was thinking about the fact that Lattimore was willing to restructure his contract to make this trade possible. Although you made a great point, Saints is in a bad place now and I imagine some players want to get out of there. |

Steelers is going all in, they also traded for Mike Williams. It will be interesting to see how far they will go into the playoffs. |
