Well, at least the good news is that jerry jones won't think about firing Wade this week, so that makes us just inch even closer to Shanahan.
Exactly, however, it would be interesting to see an epic bidding war between Snyder and Jones to land his services. |
*
* Miles Austin is obviously the Cowboys' No. 1 wide receiver at this point. He had the big touchdown early in the game but his catch and run on a third-and-long with 6:28 left in the game held the Saints' comeback at bay. You can tell Romo has so much faith in Austin. Conversely, why would anyone have faith in Roy Williams at this point? His drop on a quick slant in the fourth quarter allowed the Saints to continue their comeback. I'd bench the guy. He really has no business being on the field -- especially with players such as Kevin Ogletree and Patrick Crayton making clutch catches.
Cowboys rapid-fire observations - NFC East Blog - ESPN Mosley covered Roy Williams in college, if I'm not mistaken. |

However, If you compare Roy Williams stats to Sean Taylor's they're almost identical. To insinuate the the NFL players and coaches were wrong by voting him in is non-sense. Re: nfl week 15
I think, and I'm doing this at the risk of 10-odd games worth of evidence, I would have to conclude that between our game with the Cowboys, and each of our games with the Saints, that the Cowboys have a better defense than us for the first time since...2006.
We needed to close at the end of a great defensive performance in Dallas, and couldn't do it. They did. We needed to close after our kicker shanked it, and didn't. They could have hung their heads and gone to the locker room, but instead, their defense manned up and got it done. He's kind of a joke as a head coach, but I don't think I'd mind Wade Phillips here next year as our DC. |

Sean definitely didn't deserve to go in 2006. In 2007, he was by far the best safety in the league for about half a season, but he didn't play in the second half of the season. He didn't play for the Cowboys, so it's not unreasonable to suggest that if he had missed the second half of the season with injury, as opposed to tragedy, he would have been passed over despite leading the league in INTs at the midway point. |

My sentiments exactly |
Re: nfl week 15
WR 19 Austin, Miles ACT REC 65 YDS 1,138 AVG 17.5 TDS 11 DAL
WR 11 Williams, Roy E. ACT REC 37 YDS 592 AVG 16.0 TDS 6 DAL these are this years stats, with Austins first season as a full time starter. i guess facts are facts, and Williams sucks |
Re: nfl week 15
then compare him to Fred Davis, who has only started a handful of games
TE 86 Davis, Fred ACT REC 35 YDS 369 AVG 10.5 TDS 5 WAS and you realize he REALLY sucks |

How do you figure? Lets compare their first 4 years. It's not fair to compare Williams entire career to Sean's, since Sean only played in 4 NFL seasons. In Sean Taylor's first 4(3 and half actually) years in the NFL, he had 241 solo tackles, 61 assists, 2 sacks, 8 forced fumbles and 12 interceptions. In Roy Williams first 4 years in the NFL he had 342 tackles, 61 assists, 6.5 sacks, 9 forced fumbles, and 12 interceptions. That's what I mean when I say their numbers are nearly identical. Roy Williams deserved his pro bowls, especially if he matches numbers with arguably the best safety to ever play in the NFL. |

I don't need stats to see that he seems to drop any key play that comes his way or that an undrafted free agent has clearly outplayed him this year. |

I moved on from the Miles Austin debate. I was referring to Roy Williams (safety). I've conceded that Miles is a better WR at this point in his career. However I'm not going to concede that Miles Austin has had a better career since he hasn't topped Roy's best season yet. Nor has Miles come close to his career stats. Nor has he earned a pro bowl yet (although I think he'll make it this year). While I'm using numbers to support my argument, most of my detractors are using childish name calling to support their arguments. "He's terrible", "you suck", "your a fool", "The NFL players who voted Roy into the Pro Bowl don't know what their talking about, but us Monday Morning armchair QB's do".. |

hopefully it will soon be everyone on the site, why do you keep defending cowboy players on a redskins board it just doesn't make sense, then to say it would be stupid to put kalisto2010 is a cowboys fan as a sig, just to turn around and put roy williams and miles austin stats in your sig is kinda ridiculous |

How about if we talk about week 15 in this thread?
The Cinci-San Diego game should be a good one. I wonder if the Bengals get an emotional lift the way that we did when ST died. |

Re: nfl week 15
I really like Arizona's offense. Great young RB duo of Wells and Hightower, obviously Bolding and Fitz (with Breaston and Doucett behind them), and old man Pop Warner. Really they are a TE away from being a top-to-bottom complete offense.
And don't forget Jeremy Bridges!! |
Re: nfl week 15
Wow, Vince Young is really starting to develop. That was an awesome TD. And he's finally learning how to slide, and avoid the big hits.

I believe today is the final nail in the coffin for Daunte Culpepper's career. Detroit looked like a completely different team once he was benched.
