Next time the Marlins face Nyjer:
The 1st baseman had no chance to beat him to the pitcher last night, but man, he put on a nice hit when he got there. |
Personally I don't feel what Nyjer did was wrong.
What he did against the St. Louis catcher wasn't even bad. Everyone is talking hit this and that, please, he didn't hit him, he bumped into him. Sure it was stupid and poor on his part and we suspended him one game for it, but lets not hype it up people. We even apologized to the catcher and Tony after the game.
if nyjer just played baseball after the cards incident then there would be no "hype" or extended media attention. but he didnt. he plowed into a catcher the next game unnecessarily ending his season. then we know what happened the next game. nyjer is keeping nyjer's name in the media. right now, at an early stage in his career he is labeled a punk whose .257 batting avg might not make the attitude and headache he brings worth keeping him around. |

Their catcher was BLOCKING THE PLATE. Morgan had every right to 'plow' him over. If you are going to stand over the plate you should be ready to get hit, it's simple baseball.
Major League 2, "don't stand on the tracks when the trains coming through." Am I sorry the guys season has been ended due to the injury, absolutely, but that's a chance you take when you block the plate, if anything he should be happy it wasn't Adam Dunn who came in to score. |

2 for Riggleman lol, lot handed out. Morgan said, "Man, they threw the book at me." LOL.

Wasn't a dirty hit by Morgan at all. Did the new catcher get any suspension? He was swinging on Morgan more than anyone in the pile. |

can the nats please, for the love of god and all that is holy, please, please, please play some better baseball so the Os, who are 2 games back, can have teh 1st overall draft pick.
you guys got stras and harper the past 2 years, we fell way back behind before we started playing real baseball in an attempt to secure the 1st overall pick, now stras goes on DL, attendance hits all time lows and you want the 1st pick back? i knew you guys were jealous of the Os and the fact they might actually get the 1st pick this year but come on! this has penguins-lemiuex written all over it. i hope you dont take teh 3rd baseman from vandy. you shouldnt but still, dont. them fighting words right there. |

Hate to break it to you OTM but the Pirates have a pretty solid lock on the #1 pick. They are currently sitting at 52-98. Then there's Seattle, then Arizona, and then the O's.
Or maybe I was just wasn't picking up some sarcasm. |
