re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
There has to be a information leak at this point. God I hope he is coming to D.C.
|
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
He's def not coming to DC. Raiders, Miami or Titans.
Sorry folks |
Aaarrghh. Titans awarded moss according to twitter...
|
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Per Adam S
Oakland is the team to watch on Randy Moss. if he clears there, watch out Miami. And if he clears there, he's home to Tennessee |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Titans got him

Yup, beat me to it. Good move for the Titans in my opinion |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
So 21 teams passed on Moss
Now...let's turn our attention back to JaMarcus Russell |

you sure? link anyone? |
Rue rue rue rue
Yes. I am rueing. |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Excuse the language but why the **** did we not claim Randy Moss? We still have a legit chance at the playoffs in terms of record and WR is something that needs to be addressed. I'm getting so fed up with this organization.
|
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
I don't understand why we didn't claim him
|
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
nfl.com is reporting that, yes, the Titans did get him
hard to believe he couldn't help us |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
we could have used the compensory pick too....really dumb in my opinion
|
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
were stupid
|
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Oh well I guess we will continue to struggle on Offense, hey thats nothing new to skins fans.
|
Re: Randy Moss Waived
I think part of this is that Shanahan doesn't seem to know how to deal with players with egos.
Think if Gibbs never got Riggins. What a shame...not that I was looking forward to the drama...but c'mon...it is Randy freaking MOSS plus an extra draft pick for nothing but cash in a no cap year! Pretty bad. |
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
the thing is look at our O as a car that needs fixing. Moss is the fancy rims and the OL is the engine. Right now we have a broken engine so why would we go and get fancy rims for a car with a broken engine.
|
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
A lot of teams passed on him, many that could have used WR help. Kinda tells the story right there.
|
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Insanity, pure insanity. Are they REALLY sure that one of the 5-10 best WRs in the game couldn't help this team out? If they are trying to set a new standard for character on this team than it is somewhat defensible. However every single draft pick and free agent better pass the smell test from here on out!

Bad analogy...as Rims don't make the car go faster (and score TD's) like Randy Moss. I get it...our Oline sucks....but we cant improve that midyear...but we are given a gift to pair up with McNabb and we pass it up because of "behavior?" C'mon...Haynesworth should have been playing all year...but because Shanny can't manage anything but 100% compliance, he is benched...you have an all star WR with a big mouth....outside of Santana...your wide recievers basically suck...except one up and comer...perhaps...and you walk away? That is totally nuts! If he hasn't pissed off McNabb enough, this week...he may have just slammed the nail in the coffin... So not only do we have issues at oline, we still have WR....probably will have a major issue at QB....and that is just the offense...oh yeah...also RB, at least we have TE covered...lets wait until Shanny pisses of Cooley...that would be amazing. |
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
T.O. and Moss on the free market in the same season and we don't bite. With all the stupid moves we have done over the years, I can understand why, but we actually could have used one of these guys. O well...

Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Also isnt it worth it to recoup a 3rd rounder when we are once again short on draft picks?
|
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Titans are selling out bcuz they know VY isn't a good enough QB to lead them to a super bowl. I do think this will make CJ28 even more dangerous If that's possible
|
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Oh and lets not forget we get to play the titans in two weeks, judging on how badly we have covered tall elite WRs like Andre and Calvin Johnson I wonder how badly he is going to burn us?
|
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
It would have been nice if this team had added Randy Moss.
Of course, what many teams are in agreement about is that there shouldn't be a long line to stand in to add Randy Moss. He doesn't offer a ton of value to an NFL offense, say the Patriots and the Vikings. And he's a king-sized pain in the rear. And doesn't play special teams. Completely justifiable to pass on adding Moss right now. Just don't know if I would have done it. |

Not sure it would be a 3rd...(anyone know?) But imagine this....Moss for half a season...for nothing but cash....and a decent pick to use on a center/RB/OLB I told you guys that Bruce Allen was average. How come the Titans continue to win and make this deal happen...do any of us think the Skins FO is better than theirs? They are probably laughing their butts off right now |
Oh and lets not forget we get to play the titans in two weeks, judging on how badly we have covered tall elite WRs like Andre and Calvin Johnson I wonder how badly he is going to burn us?
I really don't think we stand much of a chance against the Titans w/o Moss. They're the best team in the league and it makes a lot of sense for them because they need to chase a super bowl title, not just a playoff berth.
They're the favorite right now to win the whole thing. They were the favorite before Moss, but he helps their cause. |
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
After watching Moss give up playing for the Vikings a second time why the hell would we want him. If we did add him it might (thats a very big might)lead us to maybe one or two more victories but he is not going to carry us to the SB so its just a waist.

one or two wins to a likely 7-9 team is the difference between the playoffs and the worst position you can have....barely not making it and getting screwed on next years schedule and lame draft pick position. |
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Shanny and R. Moss would probably be butting heads every damn week. Shanahan wants to see 100% effort from his guys. Moss never gives that kind of effort.
I'm still not sure myself which side to take, but that's probably Shanahan's perspective. |

I would rather have Moss full speed 90% of the time than any other WR on the team...he is that good. (except Santana) Not to mention, his mere presence would create huge opportunities for TE's and the other WR's and could potentially loosen up running lanes for our struggling running game...UGH! |
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
I think its worth it JUST for the draft pick honestly. If they are getting ready to admit McNabb was a mistake then why not try to get back a draft pick that we gave away to get him? Remember this was a chance to get Randy Moss and a highish round draft pick for cash and we watched it go right by us......
|
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
complete failure for this organiztion... sad day for me as a skins fan.
|
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
I am so glad we did not sign him. He does not fix the team and causes more issues than I would put up with as a HC. Its hard to pass on his talent but its not worth the headache when passes don't come his way and he starts quitting on routes, walking off the field and interviewing himself.
|
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Mike Shanahan doesn't want any stars. He is way too busy trying to deflate the egos of Clinton Portis, Albert Haynesworth, and Donavan McNabb to take on Randy Moss right now.

A compensatory draft pick for Moss would have been no higher than a 5th, and we're talking the bottom of the 5th, so essentially a 6th. Players with 10+ years NFL experience cannot command more than a 5th. Plus, it would have been for the 2012 draft |

Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Some of you guys seem to be missing VC pretty bad as of late. And a coach holding players accountable, how dare he?
