The amount of unfounded speculation being thrown out there is completely blowing me away. I mean. Wow, just wow.

Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday
Reminds me of john Beck, thought Shanny knew quarterbacks. He was way off on Beck. He was so far off on Beck, this idiot had Grossman as his starter and made us a laughing stock. He was about to be fired, we had been through his "system" QB gamble it became clear we needed a QB with some physical talent. If "Kyle" was such a good coordinator you could just follow his system to success. If this was true Beck would have proved it. It proved to him wrong. RG3 saved Mikes job. I remember those events.

That's sad he went in to the season with a joke at QB. Even played with Beck's mind. He was the joke and Mike played him and us. mike <<<<< Gibbs. |

There are plenty of things that Griffin can be criticized for, but being too stupid to play the position isn't one of them.
I couldn't agree more. It also doesn't seem that RGIII had any issues knowing the plays or playbook. We didn't see instances -- this year or last -- where he threw to open space where there was no receiver or the receiver had done something he didn't expect (not with any frequency, any way). Nor was there any hint from the coaches that we were tapping into only a small part of the playbook beceause he didn't know it all -- which coaches will sometimes say with new guys, backups, etc. I don't think this has anything to do with the product on the field. |

I remember, that summer, I was speaking with my brother about going to a game and I told him, "Until they get a real quarterback, I'm not going to another game! Grossman and Beck?! There's not a starter between them, I'm not going this year." Obviously, I've lifted that ban since we drafted Griffin, but I was all kinds of angry that Mike Shanahan tried to sell me on the Grossman/Beck fiasco. Btw, he was wrong to bench Grossman when he did too. Apparently, that just his MO |

Jason Whitlock is a joke.
The reason Snyder has not fired his lame-duck coach is because he realizes he played a role in Shanahan's inability to connect with RG III in a way that would've allowed Shanahan to humble Griffin and properly manage him. Snyder realizes Griffin needs to be humbled. Anyone objectively watching the Washington game film realizes Griffin is living in a false reality as a pocket passer. Anyone who witnessed Griffin's Week 1, flag-carrying, drop-to-his-knees, pregame jaunt onto the field realizes Griffin has a lot of work to do as a locker room leader. He's lost in swagger, a bogus reality fueled by social media and a culture with little regard for humility and self-awareness. There's no guarantee he'll awaken from his fantasy world. But Mike Shanahan will soon clean out his office knowing he shook Griffin as hard as he could.
RG III a victim of his own swagger Oh, is that why, Jason? Actually, I'm more sure that it's because Snyder probably knows firing him now a. accomplishes nothing and b. doesn't allow you enough to time to mount the evidence to fire him "with cause" so Snyder doesn't have to pay him. |

I hope Dan learns a lesson he already knew. Never sign a deal where you can't fire the coach, GM, or whoever. Say look I'm making you the highest paid, can you give me results?

He had one excellent year in Denver. Not sure Shanny was such a genius. |
Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday
Shanahan is a genius and he is never wrong about quarterbacks!!!
“Let me say, when John Beck did come out [of college], I had him rated as the top quarterback coming out that year, and I didn’t even think it was close,” said Shanahan, who traded with Baltimore last August to get Beck. “I had a lot of confidence in John Beck when he came out in 2007. I evaluate the quarterbacks every year, and I do have confidence in John Beck. He was by far my No. 1 guy. I think the world of him.” Shanahan has won one playoff victory in 14 years. Jesus fucking christ can we move on from this overrated self absorbed know it all? He fucking sucks now, and just cause he got lucky drafting running backs in the 6th and 7th round, everyone thinks he is a genius. If he was such a fucking genius, then why risk losing a stud like TD and ALF by letting 31 teams have them up for grabs for 6 straight rounds? He rode Elway to two superbowls, and after he retired, NOTHING. NOTHING, no postseason success, not even an AFC divisional game. Why the fuck is it so hard to see that this guy fucking sucks? |

Taking a page out of your book... what else are the players going to say? Especially the vets that know it's best to just keep your mouth shut and play. |

Griffin has been horrible. Manning has not. Griffin is a diva who never accepts responsibility for his own failings. Manning is a true leader and takes responsibility for the failings of his teammates. This situation would never happen with manning because manning is a classy hall of fame player and rg3 is like a petulant child who feels he's entitled to respect he hasn't earned. |
Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday
What if.
What if Cousins starts Sunday and the team wins? What happens if Cousins looks better in a typical MS style offense (meaning no option and pocket passing with some roll outs) and the team keeps winning?
This is what i've asked to myself and to the members here many times. What if Cousins simply is the better QB for this team? Griffin had a great rookie season, props to him and much respect where it is deserved, but the NFL, and this team in particular have seen plenty of guys have one good year and then never again play at that elite level. Griffin even if he is 100% healthy is not what he was before. He may never be again. It sure seems like the skins paid a ransom for a guy who might just be a bust. It won't be the first time it happened here and sadly won't be the last time. The smartest thing to do, in my opinion, is to put the best QB on the field. If we all of a sudden look different and Cousins plays well, possibly even winning the final 3 games, then the stage should be set for a true competition next off-season. To not do that i think would be stupid. And we could still get picks should they decide to trade Griffin (although very unlikely). I just wish we were a team where the best man had the job, compared to "we gave up our whole future for this guy, we must start him no mater what", or "he is one of the top paid players, he must start".... |

So basically RG3 in his second year learning while Manning is a vet and knows what to say. Lets remember Manning wasnt quite Manning in his first couple of years. Wasn't it his 4th year where he threw 23 interceptions? Also Manning had deflected blame from himself in his younger days. Imagine if RG3 came out and said they had "protection issues" like Manning did after the Colts played Pitt a couple of years back. Hopefully RG3 will learn just like Manning did how to say the right things and be a better QB. Or maybe Cousins will instead. |

Eli Manning has been proven for years now but this year he's going to end the year having more INTs than TDs, better put that bitch out to pasture, right? He'll NEVER have another good year. There's absolutely no way you can assume RG3 won't be who he was. All signs point to him actually being ABLE to, but he needs 3 things 1) A better coach 2) Some better players and 3) Better mechanics and decision making. Next year (and potentially 2015) is really the big year to tell whether or not Griff is NFL elite material. Hell, I'm not even 100% against pulling RG3 and playing Cousins, but its WAY too early to talk about RG3 being a bust. Jesus, give the guy another healthy year and see what happens. |

Right now, I don't think rg3 has the respect of his coaches or teammates. He needs to grow up in this offseason if he wants to have a future in the league. |
