Well yeah, since he puts them in a hole to begin with. Kinda easy to keep a low profile in bumfuck Indy. If he was in a major market he might have a little more heat. 7 INTs is flat out bad. Griffin threw 12 all year and all we hear is how much he struggled.
One thing I'll say about luck is he's the least talked about out of the young guns, but yeah he needs to lower those ints in the future. |

I agree with this. I will say this about Luck though. He's maintained that low profile by not only the market he plays in, but the decisions he made early on. He made a point not to do a bunch of endorsements and commercials until a later time. Andrew Luck explains why he does fewer ads than RG3 - NFL.com
"I really didn't have much time," he said. "And I wanted to make sure I had time to handle the stuff that mattered, whether it was moving into an apartment, finishing school or learning the playbook. There was so much going on, I figured the less time I spent promoting myself or doing ads, the better for me. I figured I'd wait and hopefully, at some point, a big fish will come along.' "And really, to each his own. I don't necessarily think my way is the right way. It's what's best for each person. It's fun to see Robert capitalizing on his situation." The rookie wage scale lowered Luck's first contract, but it's not like the guy is starving. "I'm living fine right now," he said. "I'll focus now on football, and maybe after the season is over, we'll pursue some other opportunities, maybe something in the Silicon Valley. But for now, the time isn't right."
It would behoove RGIII to follow Luck's lead on this. |

Robert puts in a ton of time, no one has accused him of not knowing the playbook. He got married, rehabbed, did his commercials and was still statistically a good season after coming off a major injury. Well, when you want the spotlight, expect that light to burn you when things go wrong. With the media shit storm DC has, he would be better off going to Luck route. That sounds like a double standard. also, RG3 is a communications major, there is no way he could let this opportunity pass him by. He was trained to market and brand. That is his profession. |
Re: Around the NFL Div. Round Playoffs
If the commercials aren't a problem when they win, they shouldn't be a problem when they lose either. Just an example of petty, dimwitted people out there focusing on the wrong stuff.

Re: Around the NFL Div. Round Playoffs
People need to get over the whole "keep low profile" unrealistic expectation. Even if RG3 were to give up all of his commercials, our local TMZ-like sports media will be all over him. What is he supposed to do, go live in a f*cking bunker?
Doing less commercials is not going to make him a better QB. Being completely healthy, without a knee brace, with the benefit of a full second offseason, and having some good talent around him is what's going to make him a better QB. |

And he needs that talent on both sides of the ball. He needs a Defense and Special Teams that can tackle, are not always getting burned over the middle and in the backfield, and are not always giving up the big play when it really matters; giving up an average 300 yards and 30 points per game is NOT surrounding him with talent. All of his contemporaries have a complimentary solid unit on the other side of the ball - and in the case of the Seachickens it's flat-out sick. Thinking like this, though, requires some perspective, which is in short supply. |

Yep, the commercials arent a big deal especially since he's is contractually obligated to do them. The same with his weekly pressers during the season, its something that has to be done as part of the job. Where I do think RG could stfu is with things like his recent facebook post and twitter. That stuff isnt helpful and just provides fuel for the fire. |

It's really really simple. If you don't want the heat from the attention you draw to yourself via marketing, don't do it. That attention works both positively and negatively depending on the circumstances. I've noted that there would be a circus regardless, but by putting oneself into the spotlight, you draw yet additional attention that probably wouldn't be as magnified had you not put yourself out there. You don't think that dumbass "ALL IN FOR WEEK ONE" bullshit didn't put pressure on people in that organization? You are very shortsighted if you think not. I don't think anybody is asking him to live in a bunker or stop living his life. He needs (and you fans do as well) need to stop talking about the media negativity towards him while he's continually throwing his image out there via ads/promotions/etc..
also, RG3 is a communications major, there is no way he could let this opportunity pass him by. He was trained to market and brand. That is his profession.
If communication was his major, he must have been asleep in class during those lectures, because he failed horribly at communication during this past off-season on through the season. ps. Communications isn't a major that trains one how to market themselves. That would be Marketing. |

Or not. He's a 2nd year guy who has taken a 2-14 team to the playoffs 2 years in a row and actually won a playoff game this year. He progressed, not regressed. Yes, the INTs are bad, but what he does when he's not throwing picks is pretty ridiculous. This is an interesting read about why the concussion settlement was rejected by the judge. It sounds like a lot of work needs to be done on this. And it's hard to tell whether or not all retired players in need of help paying their medical bills would be getting a fair shake under the current agreement. I've also never heard of one attorney telling his co-counsel that they couldn't discuss the agreement due to a gag order. JR care to weigh in? |

I see more McD's commercials with Colin Gangsternick and Joe Flacco than Griffin commercials in total. Seems like they have a new one every month. No one criticizes them for commercials. Flacco's team missed the playoffs after he started doing all of these commercials, going to blame Joe? I don't even see many RGIII commercials anymore aside from him popping onto the screen for 2 seconds to say "Eat Fresh". The Adidas and Gatorade don't even show any more, at least where I live. |
