Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Been saying this for two years. What he has done with Stroud is the cherry on top. You get a quarterback from OSU to ball out in this league and you better get a shot. Immediately.
Yesterday was the first game I saw w/ the Texans. Love the way he called the game. Actually had the QB under center and ran real play action. Kept feeding Collins the ball. Even though Singletary didn't have a big game he got him 20+ carries. Wondering if B Rob has had 20+ carries in a game this entire year. Doubt it. Go get that guy. He'll do wonders w/ Penix! |

We're on to bigger and better things!
I wouldn't be surprised if Rivera is relieved of his duties immediately after the game.....Harris and Magic might not wait for Monday. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
RR is fucking 102-102 ; you know that fucker wants to have a career winning record
He wins today, I will just idk it won’t be good |

That would be sweet. I get that everybody in the NFL has tremendous respect for Rivera, I am honestly not sure why, I know he is a good man but he has been awful as a HC. What does giving him a few more days of having a job do for him? It's not like he isn't going to get paid out for the last year of his deal regardless. Fire him after the game and move on. I have no idea if he pursues another HC job, but a lot of people feel like this is his last ever game as a HC. |

I believe today is Ron's birthday (thought I heard that in news reports). If that is the case, I doubt they relieve him today. Most likely they do the "wait 24 hours" thing. At this point it's clear he is gone so I am not as pressed about that announcement as the replacement search/hire. |

No need to rush letting him go.

In a way, I could see that. Who would want to be in his position a minute longer than necessary. But I expect that Harris will give him a professional goodbye, to continue setting the new standard of behavior for our club. |

There absolutely isn’t. Now hurry up and do it. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Brutal business. I can see why Cowher never returned to coaching.
Give Ron until tomorrow. Firing him right after the game strikes me as vindictive and a bit Snyderesque. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Lmao. Beinemy is sooooooo fucking out of touch and needs to be fired today.
|
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
No. Let him interview and leave for a HC job.
|
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
EB will be here until the bitter end (of the offseason) in case someone wants to gift us comp picks.

Why? He'll be gone along with with everyone in this coaching staff. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
EB shot at a HC job went up in flames with Sam Howell.
The excuses we make for players aren’t going to cut it when interviewing with professionals. If he couldn’t get a HC while on a Super Bowl run, he isn’t going to get one with a 4 win season. |

because, as a minority candidate, if someone hires him away from us to a higher position (for some reason), we get comp picks. If we fire him before that happens, we don't. |

I’m not blaming sam but this is a results driven league and they both shit the bed. The first interview question EB will be asked is why didn’t he replace Sam before the season was lost. That’s on EB. |

Then your boy is a soft pussy ass bitch that lacks confidence. Sam Howell pees sitting down. Can we draft a grown man to play QB please? |

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
SFRedskin is not worth the time , it’s clear Sam isn’t the guy just move on no need to name call each other
|
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
SF, don’t take it serious. I’m just trolling the Cult of Sam.
|
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Jamf ..you created the cult ... we all could see what was going on but your post at least for me made me want him to succeed even more .. It's because of you that I will always be pulling for Sam to succeed no matter where he is at .. and he will be successful ( maybe not great) but I will say before his career is done he will have success.. I'm glad I don't have the hate for anyone like that ..

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Pool of open head coaching positions just got deeper with firing of Atlanta Falcons Arthur Smith which worries me that pool of available head coaches for Washington just got shallower.

I don't think that will matter....Washington's HCing job is more desirable than Atlanta's head coaching job..... |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Pool, schmool. Washington is a top attraction for a GM/HC combination with Harris now in charge. We'll have every chance of grabbing one of the top 3 in each category provided Harris and his gang know what they are doing. And all the signs suggest they do.
Right now I'm just sitting here waiting on them to wake up Monday AM and make the first announcements that start off our new era properly. Everything else is down to the league schedule. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
ATL all ready fired their coach, what is taking so long!!!!!!
|
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Blank didn't even wait until Black Monday, Arthur Smith got his walking papers hella quick.
Mred what's taking so long? I would assume Harris is just a respectful person and will wait for him to come in today so he can pack up his office. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
That and it was Rons birthday yesterday, don't think Josh wants to be seen as such a douche to a guy who is widely respected, doesn't look good to potential candidates with options. Today/tomorrow/next week doesn't make a lot of difference. Does not stop them doing due diligence on prospective replacements.

Good point, I forgot about that. Just because Ron is a lousy coach doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to be treated with respect. |

We just need to keep him around for about 2 weeks after the Superbowl - by then all the vacancies around the league will be filled. Next coach can determine if he wants to keep him or not. If the next coach doesn't want him I expect him to interview for OC around the league or go back to KC. |

From JP Finlay
Team meeting scheduled for 9am
Nicki Jhabvala
Ron Rivera just arrived at the Commanders’ headquarters. He’s expected to meet with Josh Harris this morning..
Its like Christmas eve when you were a kid..... |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
EB ain't coaching this team. He is a terrible OC. He threw a RB screen 3 yards behind the line, out of shotgun and had his 3 small wr's block for BR on a 4th and short. We have seen this crap from him all year long. Over and over and over again. He calls the dumbest shit when he gets in short yardage. I can't take that guy anymore.

They probably have a birthday card and cake to cut first and then they have to sing and ask him how his birthday was. You know typical office stuff on a Monday when someone has a weekend birthday. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
I’ve been up since 3am waiting for the news.
I hope they leave no one behind. |

This ^ Better than having Bruce Allen meet you at the airport as the team returns in the wee hours. |
