Re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread
id give anderson a look. he did put up 29 tds one year. hes only 26 years old. the browns have had the same crappy rotating door of coaches and schemes that we have had, so i dont think its a stretch to think he might be better off in a competent organization.

Re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread
i don't see anderson as being any better of a fit here than campbell. i suppose we could sign him and then hope to trade jason for a late round pick, but i'd rather just stick with Campbell. He's got two years in a west coast system so he should have a fundamental understanding about how the system works. at this point, i think we're best off just keeping campbell this year and seeing how he plays (whether we draft Bradford or not). If Campbell plays extremely well, we can either extend him or franchise and trade him in the offseason. If he doesnt, then we can let him walk and hope to get a 3rd or 4th round compensatory pick in 2012.

I really think Campbell is poised for a huge year.

To bad, I guess they don't want to win. Plus don't they realize that they just lost Boldin. During his senior year of high school Charlie missed a few games with a sprained finger. By the time he came back we were playing a weak school and our backup QB was doing pretty good (ended up at Miami of Ohio on a scholarship). So we decided to play Charlie at Wide Reciever for a game or two. Now if that isn't versatility I don't know what is. |

That was restated time after time last offseason with all the supporters blah blah blah...ill believe when I see it cause at the beginning of last season while his line was intact he played piss poor...Dont get me wrong I want JC to do great and want him here for this coming year but he has had more than enough time to show me. Most supporters now say pick Bradford |

I wouldn't be upset if we picked Bradford, but I think we should use the pick on an offensive lineman with our first pick. I've been fairly critical of Jason Campbell. Not over the top, but some. Honestly I think this is the first time Campbell has played for a bonafide, competent coaching staff since he's been a Redskin. Even when Gibbs was here, the scheme evolved and was somewhat disjointed. The same under Zorn, which turned out to be an experiment. I'm hoping we'll see Campbell actually build on some of his successes from last year. |
Re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread
I'm not sure JC will have a "big" year, but I do think he will be better protected and put in a much better position to succeed than what we saw under Zorn.

Larry Johnson according to Schefter is visitining the Redskins tommorow.

I don't think he's finished in the NFL. Campbell has been good for us. He can become better if you give him a decent line. |
Re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread
Larry Johnson really? Wow. I wouldn't mind that. Dude can be a bit of a tool though.
Seemingly every hour since yesterday morning I've heard "Willie Parker is about to sign with the Redskins" I've decided not to believe it anymore until/unless it actually happens |

And yes, I would rather have him over Fast Willie Parker. |

If there were a sure-fire bonafide stud of a QB in this years draft, then i'd be on board with drafting Bradford. Unfortunately, there's not. This team needs alot of improvement from the QB position but it needs even more from the LT position. I simply cant understand any argument for drafting a player at a lesser need who has a 50/50 or greater probability of being a bust vs. drafting a can't miss LT prospect at the teams greatest position of need. I simply can't. hopefully, we won't be drafting this high again for a long, long time. lets not screw it up. |
Re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread
Campbell better hope he has a good o-line next year, because Green Bay, Minnesota, Indy, and Houston(Mario Williams vs. scrub LT if we don't draft one, anyone?) can all bring it and I wouldn't discount Tennessee either and don't even get started with the teams in the division, because it's common knowledge that they...can..kill...QBs.

Re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread
I would take a chance on Brady, especially with Shanahan as our coach.
