i've never read a book and had it be turned into a movie, but some of my favorite novels were, i just happened to see the movie before i read the book. besides the outsiders, but that was all before i was born. american psycho is great both ways
I'm a big fan of watching a movie first and then reading the book afterwards. |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Yeah, probably not the best idea to come out with a full length movie. I could appreciate a short tribute, especially with the likes of Will Sasso and Sean Hayes (of Will & Grace fame) but not a full feature.
3 stooges to me is legendary and still funny to this day, and this is coming from a guy that absolutely hates pre-80's cinema, especially black and white shows and movies. Speaking of slap-stick comedy. [YT]sytVoTYFT08[/YT]
It originally was a blockbuster movie with Sean Penn, Benicio Del Torro, and Jim Carey in the rolls. The director dropped out and then so did the cast. It at one point had promise. |
Can't be any worse than The 3 Stooges movie that's coming out in a couple weeks.
I agree. When I first saw the trailer I told my wife there was no way that movie could make any money, although i could be wrong. I was also shocked when they said that "John Carter" 's projected loss was going to be somewhere in the 200 million range.. Can a film fan tell me how close that is to "Battlefield Earth" in terms of loss? |

I have read all three hungry game books. I have to say they are very under welling. I kept reading in hopes it get great due to the reviews. Never happened.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
So I went to see The Hunger Games, it was a pretty good movie. My wife enjoyed it as well. If I have time this summer, I will try to read the book.

And it was one of those situations where I saw the movie first and then I read the book. The book was awesome. I'd like to read the Shawshank Redemption sometime in the future as well. |

Is this one of those rare cases where the movie is better than the book? |

on a separate note, i finally saw the kite runner. add that to my list of books i've read/movies i've seen |

Well you don't get to se Jennifer Lawrence in the book ;) Sent from my Samsung Epic 4G. |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Anybody gonna' bite and see the latest (LAST I would say) American Pie movie?
I remember when I was way younger, I loved Fast and the Furious and then they were all garbage until the most recent one. Wondering if they reunite all those characters if it'll be worth seeing? |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Yeah that looks amazing, big fan of the original alien movies.
As am I. I think Alien still ranks as the scariest movie I've seen to date. Nothing else really comes close to it. Also, don't expect to see any "xenomorphs" in this even though there is a connection. This is more about the "Space Jockey" from Alien.
the final 30 seconds of that trailer makes your heart go into overdrive with the soundtrack. Looks awesome!
Alien did the same thing to me when I watched it. I was a kid when I saw it, scared shitless...lol
why do they have to make the movies so scary, i'm taking my flashlight to batman. i doubt if i'll be able to watch this one
Have you ever seen Alien? I suggest you watch it. (with lights out for more effect) |

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
