I only know the proposed deals that were offered not the reasoning behind them
can you tell us what the proposed deals were? it would be interesting to know what value the Redskins and/or other teams assign to Jason Campbell. |
Re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread
Marlin Jackson signs with Eagles, according to Schefter.
Um...I don't remember what the rumors were. Campbell for a 3rd and a 4th? Campbell for Quinn and a 3rd? Something like that I think. Matty, do you remember? |
My only concern about LJ, is that he was basically KC's Clinton Portis. They put a lot of mileage on him. However, he did show that he had some gas left in the tank in Cincy, so who knows. I think I would pick Parker over LJ, just because I feel LJ and Portis seem to be the same type of back.
LJ has 700 less carries that CP. He has mileage but you are right about the glimpses in Cincy. He averaged 4.4 for them. |

I'm not a Quinn fan at all, but Id have been fine with just about any of those deals if 1) Shanahan thought he could do as good or a better job with Quinn than Campbell, or 2) Campbell is definitely has no chance to be with the team in the long-term. If Campbell's only going to be here one more year, we might as well move him now and get something in return. |

I would do either of those where we are getting a #3 pick. I would probably trade JC for a #3 straight up. It's obvious Shanny doesn't want JC long term and the skins need to find a way to get a pick in the 3rd round of this draft. |
Re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread
I'd prefer Willie Parker to Larry Johnson. I think he'd be better in the one cut, zone blocking system.
I heard Pitt decidedly reduced Willie Parker's carries to get Mendenhall more, and it wasn't so much that he lost a step. Rashard was the future, so give him the ball. In the last game of the year when the Steelers actually gave him a lot of carries, Fast Willie still showed his speed. He ran for 91 yards on 12 carries with a 34 yard breakaway run. True, the game was pretty much meaningless, but he looked healthy and like he still had some speed. |

It appears as though some old heads are returning to their old squads. Randel El, now maybe Greg Ellis.

Was just gonna post that. This also means NO T.O. in Cincy. So how 'bout those "T.O. one-year vet-minimum in DC threads"????? |

He got released from Oakland because of arthritis in his knees, plus Dallas has a STABLE full of OLB that are well below the age of 30. |
Re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread
Damn I was kinda hoping to see TO go to Cincy. It would have made for some interesting story lines.

Watching the game he looked strong. He could have done alot more damage to us. He looked strong and fast to me. Let me check those highlights again. |
