Chicago v. Washington Predictions

This team is running on fumes emotionally speaking, has had just 1 day of practice to prepare for Chicago, and our offensive line should be on the back of a milk carton. Chicago's defense isn't the same defense we saw last year and their offense is inconsistent, but given the overall state of our team I cannot see us winning this one. Redskins fall to the Bears 24-17 and drop to 5-8.

I also predict that at least several people will implicitly blow off the loss of Sean Taylor, the one day of practice, etc. and use the loss as ammo to use against Gibbs.

Redskins are a better football team than the Bears, so I'm saying 28-19 Redskins.

Should the game go the other way, I can't say I'd be shocked.

Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions

We'll either lose "because of Gibbs" or win "in spite of Gibbs" Sure the defense might let Grossman throw all over the field, Campbell might throw an INT, the offensive line might get pushed back all day, but that doesn't matter. They are never to be held accountable for anything ever.

Seriously though (although I was serious about what I wrote above), if Campbell has no turnovers we win. His turnovers have been the biggest difference between 4-0 and 0-4 the past month. We're not getting blown out, just making costly mistakes. 17-6 Redskins.

Call it a hunch, but I think this is the game that Campbell atones for recent mistakes and makes a few huge plays in the passing game.

Skins 20
Bears 10

Portis played great last time against the bears and i think he will get 20+ carries, so I believe that we can and will win this game. 23-17 JC plays a solid game throwing for 1 TD and no INT'S! This is really our last shot at the playoffs.

28-7 skins. We get rolling early and open a can of whoop ass on the Bears as we release some of the frustrations of the last few weeks.

Unfortunately the combination of injuries and emotional hangover are too much to overcome, 24-13 Bears..

Re: Chicago v. Washington Predictions

Is it me, or does CJ only throw picks when he's driving to score the go-ahead points? I really don't think that will be a factor this week, partly due to Rex Grossman being another QB that's trying to find himself. Picks should be even for boths teams, but fumbles and lack of a running game will be the biggest factor here. I would pound Portis, Betts, and Sellers against them. That will open up the deep threat that we had returned to us last week (thanks SM).

Skins 20, Bears 17.

I think the skins are done as well...I don't think they will be able to ride their emotions to a win...they will be emotionally spent and physically tired. It will be good to see Randy Thomas back (if he plays) but I'm not sure i see a win...

We'll win, ARZ loses this weekend just to give us yet ANOTHER week of hope only to be crushed next weekend by the Giants.

I'm tired of trying to make 'smart' homer predictions, which all fall short lately. So I'm going to do it George Costanza style - the opposite of my instincts:

Bears 24
Skins 13

We play a typical tough first half, but can't stop Grossman in the 2nd. What's left of our secondary is banged up & based on what we saw sunday, the d-line can't get any consistent pressure. This team really is going to have to dig deep & they have enough problems under normal circumstances pulling games out.

I'll also second Sheriff's prediction about Gibbs; this could be the beginning of the end.

Once again, I think Rex will stop himself. Our secondary is still pretty solid, and we really didn't allow too many deep passes in the pass couple of weeks. The key to this game is stopping BB and thier running game. I don't see them beating us if they try to air it out all day.

I really think we can win this one. For one, I don't see the Bears blowing us out. So I think we finally close the deal on a tight game.

Campbell will show up and so will the defense. I think the defense plays lights out this week.
