Lets just scrap passing all together and run the option

I'm not joking. Why not?

Lets just start running the option.

I think we can go out and sign Eric Crouch or Tommy Frazier and just start running the option.

Or better yet - just put Rod Gardiner in at QB.

I honestly think if we're going to have such little faith in our passing game that we consistently run on third and long, we might as well put a little spice into our game.

Hell, maybe we should even run it out of the wishbone offense. Why not?

What is Lou Holtz doing these days, could we persuade him to be our o-coordinator?

Ummm no.

FRPLG 11-08-2004 05:00 PM

Actually I think we could run this pretty effectively with Ramsey.

Pitching the ball out on the option may be too risky. Lets just hike it straight to the running back. :iamwithst

VTSkins897 11-08-2004 06:39 PM

we shud just have all running backs... ditch the o-line and have 11 RBs...

LongTimeSkinsFan 11-08-2004 06:47 PM

Switch Portis and Brunell so we'll have a better passing game :joke:

GoSkins! 11-08-2004 06:49 PM

It's passing that's stuggling. Ditch the o-line and have 10 recievers. No... wait... that's Spurriers offense.

Run the option with Ramsey? Now that would be interesting.

The option doesn't work in the NFL. Everyone is too fast for it to work. Even Vick couldn't run the option, and you think Ramsey can?

While the option traditionaly dosent work... the way our passing game is, it has to be on par or better than that.

I was kidding bro

:laughing2

My only objection with that is Brunell should not be allowed to throw a pass. Let Gardner and Portis throw the halfback option deep pass and have Brunell do his thing at handing it off! If we want to work with what we have right now then there are hundreds of running plays they could run. We have to face the music right now like Brian Billick did in 2000. Defense wins games. Gibbs has lost all confidence in Brunell right now because the last 3 possesssions we had, i don't remember one pass.

Jim Coughlin made this suggestion after the Giants loss. He was exagerating but his point was well taken. He will not accept stupid turnover's and neither will Coach Gibbs.
