R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio. I'm still a fan of his stints with Black Sabbath and his own stuff was great too. That man was a badass and if I remember correctly (pretty sure I'm not) I think he was the originator of the devil horns too.

Neon Knights is one of my favorite all-time heavy metal tunes, with Slipping Away and Mob Rules up there as well. Farewell to a legit rock star.

RIP DIO. Man what a loss, hard to believe he was 67, I knew he was up there but you wouldnt know it by looking at him and he could still sing his ass off. I love the stuff he did with Rainbow and ofcoarse his first DIO album was flat out crazy good.

Great musician. Holy Diver was awesome back in the day...still is now!
I had no idea he was that old. Probably a feat for a hair band-era rocker to live to 67. |

I saw Alice in Chains last night and they dedicated a song to him, the whole crowd responded by throwing up the horns. Pretty cool sight.

Oh and a cool little side story. I was in the bathroom before the show last night and as I was walking in out of the corner of my eye I saw a couple of guys washing up, both had really long hair and were dressed in black. I thought damn those guys look like some hardcore rockers. So I look over and it's Jerry Cantrell and Mike Inez. I was a total starstruck dork, I wanted to say hello but I couldn't get out a word. LOL

Yeah Glens Falls Civic Center. Typically used for AHL hockey games, occassional concerts. Probably seats about 5000 tops. |
