Hard Knocks: Falcons
1st episode was kinda boring to me. Anyone agree?
|
Re: Hard Knocks: Falcons
Ya I agree. It was like just a run down of the players on the fringe, but nothing happened. I did want to punch my TV when that goofy woman, with a TV reality show didn't know who John Elway was.

Re: Hard Knocks: Falcons
I always get the same reality check every time I watch Hard Knocks. A decent portion of NFL players, and coaches for that matter, aren't exactly the best people. In fact after watching the 3 or 4 fights between teammates during the first episode I just couldn't help but be thankful that the Redskins weren't chosen. In fact I kind of realize now what Terry Crews (aka the Old Spice guy) meant when he talked about the NFL's locker room culture.
Also why the hell is the NFL allowing what looks like 70% speed in helmets only? That alone has to be responsible for half the pointless fights that break out in training camp practices especially among the front 7. I will say though that Mike Smith really does seem like one of the few genuine nice guys in the league and if the Skins can't win a Superbowl I would be more than happy to see Smith win one. |

Re: Hard Knocks: Falcons
I got in an argument with someone over whether this is a 'reality' TV show not too long ago, and my stance is it wasn't. I guess I hadn't watched the last few seasons because watching this season definitely feels like a reality show now, and to me that's what makes it boring.
I feel like it used to be more of a documentary style with really good videography. Now they're doing one on one interviews and focusing on stupid drama issues instead of showing us the ins and outs of training camp and what it takes to make it from a group of 90+ to the final 53. I don't known if my memory of the first few seasons is just terrible or what, but it seems significantly less like a the enjoyable documentary style of a sport I love than it used to be. I'll give it one more week... |
Re: Hard Knocks: Falcons
I don't think true reality TV even exists anymore.

Sports is the only real reality tv that ever existed. |
Re: Hard Knocks: Falcons
I didn't think it was boring at all. It's obvious the Falcons are really trying to become a more physical team. A lot of training camp fights! I agree that Smith seems like a solid coach who cares about his players. He's fired this year if he doesn't make the playoffs.

Re: Hard Knocks: Falcons
I mean it is about football. Ifind it some what interesting.
A new season of a Football Life is coming out soon. By the looks of the previews they will be highlighting Sean Taylor's life. |
Re: Hard Knocks: Falcons
The Falcons are just a boring team. Not saying that's a bad thing, but for TV it sure is. I couldn't even make it through the entire first episode. Blah blah blah we want to be tough, yeah just like every other team. Here's a fight, hey check out my mansion. Snore.

Agree. Everything is loosely scripted. |

Re: Hard Knocks: Falcons
I wonder if the Falcons had complaints about the number of fights in the first episode because they sure cracked down on it during Episode 2. Kind of funny when their second round pick Ra'Shede Hageman hurt his hand during a fight. Ironically enough I'm finding myself liking Mike Tice and Bryan Cox for that matter.
