Who Stops Us Now??

Even tho we all think its not gonna happen, Who do you think got the juice to stop us ? my personal opinion is that every team we are gonna have to play in the nfc has to run the ball and we all know what happens when the #7 defense steps on the field.. ask Tiki if you been asleep for the past month. I dont see us losin to anyone in the nfc.-------------let me say it again
I DONT SEE ANYBODY BEATIN US IN THE NFC!!!!!!!!!

:spank: :point:

Re: Who Stops Us Now??

We match up well against a lot of teams with the great defense we have and the balance (most of the times) on offense. Our 10-2 conference record and the fact that we have already beaten the top 2 seeds in the NFC is proof that we can beat any team in the conference. It's going to be real tough to win 3 straight road games against good teams, but we definitely can. We already have the gameplan we need to win, it's just a matter if we can execute.

Don't get ahead of yourself. They have to focus on Tampa Bay.

What's the injury report? A lot will depend on the health of the secondary.

Re: Who Stops Us Now??

We have an payback edge over Tampa and I think we can beat them too. The Meadowland right now seems like a tough avenue to play in, especially after we embarrassed the Giants in FedEx Field. I couldn't have asked for a better starter game than Tampa.

Of all the teams in the NFC, I dont want to play the Giants the most. Even though we beat them just last week, I still dont like how we match up against them. Just somthin about that team I dont like.

Re: Who Stops Us Now??

The key 2 us winning will be the health of our secondary, and our Dline's ability to get pressure on Simms. We can't play like we did agianst Philly and win. We have 2 stop the run, pressure the QB, and STOP THE RUN. We have to punch the Buccs in the mouth early and don't stop until the final whistle blows!

I think we have the giants number... Seattle has a better chance than the Giants. The Bears will be the Giants in Chi-town

I doubt our pass coverage will suffice; ESPN's John Clayton characterized Springs' injury as "significant," Rogers hasn't practiced in a month, and I doubt that Harris and Jimoh will be able to clamp down. However, unlike our last meeting, we have Cornelius Griffin back. Griffin will make an impact. Apparently, the Eagles respected Griffin enough to triple team him on a few plays.

Of course you cant forget the team that traditionally beats the Redskins more than any other team on the planet....

.....The Washington Redskins. We can't beat ourselves, because the level of compeition is that much higher right now. We make stupid mistakes and forget about it.

panthers I am afaid because their line (defense and offense) is nastier that all NFC playoff teams

I don't afraid of the giants, they are one dimensional

In what way? Their running game is better than their passing game but by no means are they one dimensional. They can throw the ball too albeit that isn't their strength.

Both Griffin and Taylor missed the last Tampa game. I'm hoping that their presense will allow the D to overcome our CB injuries. Also recall that Clinton had his best rushing game of the season at TB, so I look for Gibbs to go heavy on the run to control the clock, and minimize exposure of our backup DBs. Having the 6 seed and playing in Tampa looks a lot better than the 5 seed and playing in NY.

We can lose to anybody on the road. We can also beat anybody. It's just a matter of execution and bounces.

as long as springs and rogers are back i think we can win...hopefully the inexperienced simms will choke in the playoffs...and the team needs to get back to the intensity they had in the dallas and new york games

Re: Who Stops Us Now??

First and foremost, the Redskins need to worry about Tampa Bay. They are returning to the scene of a very ugly loss...the controversey at the end aside, they gave up 36 points to an offense that was struggling badly going into that game. And Cadillac only played sparingly. Tampa has also won 6 of 8 and aside from the egg they laid in New England, have been playing well...and that place will be crazy on Saturday, not to mention the Skins are banged up.

Now all that being said...I think the most dangerous team in the NFC right now is the Bears....nobody is saying anything about them. They have a defense that is downright brutal...would have been the #1 in the NFL if they didn't play all bench guys today. Today aside, they have won 10 of their last 11...and they finally have a QB who can throw the ball downfield. They went 10-4 with practically no QB or passing game and that's remarkable.

I know, people will say the Skins beat them...but that was months ago, at home, in week #1. Orten was making his first NFL start and was clearly off. And the Skins only won 9-7. Chicago twice was driving deep in Skins territory too, and one bad penalty took them out of FG range and then late in the game Orten simply fumbled away the ball with nobody even touching him. The Skins were lucky to win that game and with that defense, the Bears will be tough for anyone even Seattle.

No matter who the Skins will play though, it will be on the road and they are a much different team on the road then home. All the games will be struggles...but this team has scrapped and found ways to win...hopefully they can keep it up.

Re: Who Stops Us Now??

Seattle: much better now than when we beat them earlier this year. Plus, if we play them, it'll be in their house, and they'll want revenge against us. This is a tough matchup for us.

Tampa: Cadillac will play against us this time, and the Bucs are playing even better now than they were when we lost to them earlier.

Chicago: their defense terrifies me.

Carolina: a well-balanced team. Not sure how well they match up with us, though.

New York: it would be a war if we played them again. The two blowout games this year were kind of flukey -- each time was so jacked up for the games they won. If we play them again, it goes down to a field goal, I think. Hard part is beating them in Jersey.

Re: Who Stops Us Now??

Yes we can beat anyone right now, but we have a major problem in Tampa, if anyone thinks they are not going to come out attacking our secondary as Philli did their crazy. And rest assured they will be better at it than Philli was.

In order to win this game we have to, and I mean HAVE TO keep their offense off the field, if our defense has to spend significant time on the field we will be toast. We can not allow Simms to get in any kind of rythem, if we allow him to get hot like the first meeting we may not be able to stop them, which means we will have to outscore them in their building, not easy to win a shooting match with 60,000 screaming fans in your ear every play.

The 2 pluses we have are Taylor, and Griffen, are back in the lineup for this one.

The negative is Cadilac seems to be at full strength this time, which I believe he was not the first time we played.

Re: Who Stops Us Now??

The Tampa game is going to really tuff. Simms has a lot more confidence than he did when he lit us up for 270 and 3TDs. Cadillac is playing well also. If our secondary is banged up as it looks like it will be, we could be in some trouble. You would think that with the secondary as thin as it is, GW would play more cover two, but that is just not what he is going to do. He is going to blitz, and maybe blitz more than normal trying to limit the amount of time the corners have to cover the receivers. Its going to come down to pressure. If we can pressure Simms and make him get rid of the ball quick, we stand a chance. If they can pick up the blitz, he will make us pay, BIG TIME! I am not so worried about Tampas D. I think we will be able to run and hit them with the WR screen and some deep ball. Hopefull Cooley will be more involved. Our offense looks so much more dangerous when he is involved and has to be accounted for. When he is taken out of the game plan, D's can single out Moss and Portis and shut them down.

By the way, Thrash is absolutely horrible. He couldn't get open if I covered him. He has to be one of the slowest, and worst receivers at getting open or creating space in the NFL. Can we get a little help from somebody in the WR core. All we need is a couple of catches to help moss and cooley out. Cooley couldn't do crap yesterday.

Not to rag too much on anyone, but Thrash really did look completely out of it. I thought Cooley's lack of production yesterday was really more on Brunell.

To me it looked like Philly made a huge effort on taking cooley out of the game plan. He definately was frustrated by it. Brunell was off, no doubt, but Cooley wasn't really open if any during the game. They were all over him(cooley on the screen, when he generally can get 10 yards or so. The little leak play was covered all day, except for Sellers TD. I think moss was actually open more than it showed. They played alot of man, and one on one coverage with him, and I thin Brunell just couldn't get the ball to him, or the play wasn't called for Moss. Brunell hopefully will get some rehab in the next 5 days because we are going to need him if we want to advance in the playoffs. This is not the time for Ramsey to be playing. He has the knack of throwing picks to often.

Hey I was just curious why did the Bears go back to Orton? Is Grossman hurt again?
Hey I was just curious why did the Bears go back to Orton? Is Grossman hurt again?
They were just resting Grossman cause they had nothing to play for. Lovie Smith took a lot of heat for it because Grossman has barely played this year, so he could use the reps. They think he is fragile so they wanted to keep him healthy for the playoffs -- but to paraphrase one sports pundit "you've got to take him out of the glass case at some point."
