WR screen(fake)

the fake wr screen to moss would have scored if brunell would have been more accurate and i think we need to try that again this week in seattle.

THat was a beautifully designed play--Gibbs had it set up perfectly. You only get a few shots a game against a D like that. Sucks we didn't execute. Thank god for our D!!!

Don't be ignorant. Brunell had a tough game...the entire offense had a tough game. Brunell doesn't suck.

Yes he does! He only has 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions!

So you see, he sucks!:yeahright

If I remember correctly, Brunell was about to get creamed and had to throw off his back foot quickly.

Was that was a sick move,, just sick, Moss put on the CB or what? He so had him.

Re: WR screen(fake)

If Chris Samuels doesn't forget how to play left tackle for a night, Brunell's production improves significantly.

They were in Brunell's face all night. What I would have liked to see was a quick little shovel pass to Betts or Portis with both defensive ends on a hard rush to the QB. That's two defensive players completely out of the play.

But with the way Tampa Bay was playing, it wouldn't have mattered what you threw at them, they ate it up. That defense was amazing.

Re: WR screen(fake)

Brunell got pretty good protection in philly and what'd he do there....

I think Brunell can't play injured and he's too worried about losing his job to sit out. I simply can't fathom people defending that game he had. While there were protection issues he also missed wide open receivers when he had time.

That was a Great play... I hope we see it this week after we run the REAL WR Screen a few times.

Re: WR screen(fake)

Just don't forget that the Bucs had the #1 ranked Defense. From http://www.nfl.com/stats/teamsort/NFL/DEF-TOTAL/2005/regular?sort_col_1=4
which lists the leagues top 5 defenses: (for the 2005 season)
1. Tampa Bay
2. Chicago
3. Carolina
4. Pittsburgh
5. Baltimore
9. Washington
17. Seattle
The top 5 Offenses are:
1. Kansas City
2. Seattle
3. Indy
4. New York Giants
5. Denver
11. Washington
Just to add to the actual posting, Moss did make a great juke. This play works so well sometimes, and then can work so horribly as well.

Re: WR screen(fake)

This is a silly argument, we all know Brunell does not suck, he brought us this far. But it can be agreed upon that he suckED last game, regardless if it was his fault or not.

Lose his job to who? Jason Campbell? That's a given next year, but as of now, he is the captain of this ship and just remember who got us to this point with 23 TD's .

As always I completely disagree with Daseal on QBs. Randall Cunningham still a Hall of Famer, Pele? :(

1-0 in the Playoffs and if he has a good game in Seattle...you may be on his jock.

Re: WR screen(fake)

Brunell needs to suck it up and play better this week. Then again, it seems as though every single time he dropped back to pass it was on third down and the D knew what was coming. We need to run some good play actions, which Brunell seems to need practice on. He doesn't really try to hide the ball at all, but it could be a really deadly play for us if we executed properly.

Re: WR screen(fake)

Guys, we advertised everything in the second half. We ran on 1st and 2nd downs and had to pass on 3rd down. Gibbs played not to lose with a 14 point lead and hoped Simms would make a mistake, and he did. It was ugly, but we are one of the final 4 teams in the NFC. Plus Portis was hurt, which did not help. Hopefully Portis's limited work in the game will help him get better this week. Everyone is dinged up on this team and we need them all healthy for the Seattle game.

Re: WR screen(fake)

His accuracy is way off when his legs aren't underneath him. Hopefully he'll be allright this saturday and our O can show up and outscore the #2 offense in the league.

Also don't forget if Portis throws that ball to the outside on the HB pass, its another 6.

M.Brunnell didn't need his legs on Saturday! G. Williams "D" proped him up!

And if Brunell had just a slight more touch on the fake screen pass, that would have been another 6. I think people are getting their panties in a bunch a little too soon. Things will be just fine against Seattle and hey....IF we lose..at least we can say we made it to the playoffs and advanced AND that it only took Gibbs 2 years to get to that point.

we are not going to lose!lets get back to what won 6 games in a row,by running the football and giving our defense some rest.if the d is on the field all day, like the tampa game,it will be a long afternoon.lets get back to redskin football

Re: WR screen(fake)

Bottom line. We need to get SM the ball on Saturday. The fake was a great call but we didn't execute it. We've got to do a better job this week if we want to win, and i think we will. I was as happy to get a win as anyone, but to move on the the next level, i don't think we can sit on a lead like that. I really liked what Carolina to the NYG's. They got a lead and continued to throw downfield to Steve Smith, and everybody knows where its going. They sealed the win. This is still a relatively new team coming together and Joe knows what they can and cannot do.
