Are we lucky to play Seattle?
Ok well the ideal situation would have been, for the Redskins to get 1st or 2nd seed in the NFC(next year ;)) so we would have homefield, but seeing that we do not have that, do guys feel it is better to play Seattle than Chicago, of course this is what we are dealt due to seeding, but personally I would rather play this #1 seed. I do not think it is because I feel they are easier, but for some reason I just do not like the idea of going agaisnt the Bears defense in the Windy City. Yes, no, maybe so?

Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
I dont think it matters. I think we'll play in both places.
|
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
My biggest fear is that we beat Seattle in a bonebreaker of a game, giving it everything we've got, and then we end up losing to a more rested Chicago team in the conference championship, because we've essentially had no rest since week 3.
Our early bye is absolutely murderous right now. |
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
Yeah i think we will end up playing both places and that would be for the best because i think we match up great against the bears and not carolina

Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
Yea I agree with you guys in that we will probably have to play both teams in both places, but I would just rather play Seattle. The Bears game, just seems tougher.

Yeah. Tough choice because more fans at Car game, but i agree with match up with bears better. Young QB!!!!:smashfrea |

yeah i agree. The great thing is we play on Saturday against the seahags. Then we play on Sunday for the championship game if we win while panthers and bears are on the other sunday. We get an extra day for the two teams i am most worried about. So things do work out :) |

Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
Plus guarding Steve Smith would be much hard than covering Mohammed. Its a nightmare thinking about covering Smith, now i understand how teams feel when they go up agaisnt us and Moss ;)

Perhaps, but I'm sure not scared of Kyle Orton or Rex Grossman |
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
against the bears our defenses would practically cancel each other out and I'd like our offenses chances at breaking the one or 2 big plays that turn the tide as opposed to their offense which really lacks the big play threat. in regards to carolina, they r a lot like the Skins in regards to not really knowing what team is gonna show up but to a much more extreme level especially on defense seeing as to how the cats have broken down in wins and losses against the cowpies, the packers, the cardinals, and the dolphins and none of those would really be considered offensive powerhouse.
If we get past the seahags like I strongly believe we will, I think we match up pretty well with either team, but I think I would like our chances of reaching the superbowl if that road continued through the bears. |
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
I am not scared of Steve Smith, he is good, but we have our little Santana to equal that match up. I think our defense is better and we hit harder, plus we spit. I guess
|
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
if we go on, i think we will play chicago in the nfcc. Seattle scares me though, it will be a tough test, i think if we can beat seattle we will have an easier time against Chicago.
|
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
the bears have crap QBs that both turn the ball over... of anyone in the playoffs, the bears are the team i'd take because their offense is total crap and our defense coul it out there like they did against tampa and win it for us.
seattle can score a LOT of points... I rather take the bears than the panthers if we get that far, I just think its a better matchup. |
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
i think the panthers are a complete team and could be the squad to beat in the NFC.
We get past Seattle and anything is possible... imagine 2 wild card teams come out in the end! |
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
Seattle is for real, especially at home. But whatever--at this point everyone is good. But we know that if we play our game we can win against anyone, and that even if we have trouble, our D can make it happen.
|
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
Ideal situation is that we're in the playoffs. Still in the playoffs. Redskins will bring it Saturday, no doubt about it.
|
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
grossman or orton?come on,anyone really afraid of either?
|
Perhaps, but I'm sure not scared of Kyle Orton or Rex Grossman
I agree. In general I'm not worried about the Bears. Their defense IS good, but we beat them before and we can beat them again. I have a feeling we would score a defensive touchdown or two. |
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
This Seahawks game is going to take a very manly performance from our defensive front seven, because their offensive line is awesome and so is Sean Alexander. The D is going to have to meet them with brute force and power.
It definitely can be done, but I'd rather play the Bears. Nothing about their offense is scary. |
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
Our D is playing thier best ball of the season. I think we can beat Seattle again. I think our offense will wake up. Coach Gibbs will make sure of that. It may come down to the last drive of the game again.

Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
if we beat seattle and carolina beats the bears, then we would have the "home" game for the nfc championship game right? Carolina and us have the same record, but we have the better confronce record right?
|
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
look at the coaches that we are playing,
only JOE GIBBS won a lot of SB IN GIBBS we TRUST not matter what |

All that is out the window and the seeding they take we are the sixth seed they are the fifth so there is no way we get a home playoff game. |
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
Did we have all of our Defensive starters when we played the Seahawks?
I don't think so. Go Demetric Go! A "We Want the Seahawks!" smilie needed here! |

Ok all of that is out the window and we would still get the home playoff game between us and carolina, we were the #5 seed and carolina was the #6 seed, we both ended the season at 10-6 but we were 8-2 vs. the NFC, there for we would get the home game, this all would be meaning less if we dont win, but there is a good chance that we may host the nfc title game... Anyhow heres to hoping!!!! :point: |

Carolina finished 11-5, and is the fifth seed. Washington is the sixth seed, so there is no possibility of hosting a playoff game. |
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
I think we are lucky to play Seattle. In the six games versus common opponents (@Rams, Dallas, @Cards, Giants, 49ers, @'Skins) we outscored them 183-83, whereas the seahawktoo-ey's outscored them 165-104.

First off we are not lucky to be playing Seattle the D played great!!!! Next we played a great D in TB and to turn around and play Chicago in the cold and maybe snow....no. Seattle is also good but not Chicago D!!! The Hawks have a better O so except the weather thing both are the same!! Still not traveling from coast to coast is something to think about!!! |
Re: Are we lucky to play Seattle?
90% of the game is half mental-John Madden
This is a Yogi Berra Quote not John Madden. I am a hawks fan that has watched and loved Mark Brunell since he was in College. I have a question for all Redskins fans. How many of you cringed when the Skins grabbed Brunell? How many thought and said he was done years ago? Everyone who thinks that the NFC is so much worse than the AFC this year hasn't looked at the numbers. The AFC eclipsed the NFC in won lost record by about 5 games this year. There are only a few elite AFC teams that pounded on the rest of the league. Another thing, regular season means nothing at this point the score is 0/0 the balls in our house and y'all better bring your "A" game. Tampa gained the #1 defense slot due to yards allowed during the season that's all. Look at the Aikmans, the Bears owned the best defense until the last game where they just layed down and rested their players. Your forum touts your defensive line, well we own the best Offensive line in the League with the best runner in the league as well as the #4 rated passer in the League and our entire defensive secondary will be back and healthy on Sat. Seattle played the majority of its games this season with second and third string receivers and free agents and an incredibly depleted defense. Lets just play and let the chips fall where they may. |

No one disrespects your offense, it's clearly up there with the best right now. I did cringe when we got brunell and every game last year i had to watch him play... though he's been good this year minus the last two games (he plays terribly when injured, but refuses to sit)... We're going to need more than 120 yards of offense this game, but I definately think we've got a shot. See you after the game ;) |
